2014 MDX Door Locks

Been a long while since I posted a thread asking for help. I bought a 2014 MDX Tech SH-AWD last month and noticed some issues with the driver's door lock. I believe it is a failing actuator but wanted to see if you smart folks feel the same.

Usually I can lock and unlock all doors when I press the button on the door and key fobs. Occasionally it seems like the drivers door does not properly lock. I hear a sound but the lock does not always engage. I am also hearing NO beeps at all. I also have a 2008 TL and the beep alerts me that all doors are locked. I have the settings set to beep but the only time I have heard it was today when I physically locked the doors with the knob on the inside of the drivers door and then pressed the lock button on the key fob. When I tried to unlock the doors the doors with the fob the driver's door failed to unlock and I needed to use the key.

So - failing actuator?

What do you all think? Have anyone else had any of these issues?

Other than that the car seems pretty good. Its a gray 2014 with 150K miles. I bought it as a third car since my kid is now driving. Initially I thought of giving him the TL (283K miles) but I'll be honest - I really miss my car. I'm pretty sure I am going to give him the MDX instead. Kids need the blind spot detection, Bluetooth features, forward sensor and camera a lot more than I do.

Just a heads up. Some 3G MDX owners have reported that failing door lock actuators can drain the battery. It took an owner almost a month to isolate the culprit.

There is a good chance you are hearing the door locks from the other good door actuators; but, the driver's door isn't automatically locking or working (and not getting the confirmation beep). My 08 RDX did this issue and I had to manually lock/unlock the driver's door until I got the actuator replaced. It is an advantage of having the confirmation beep on the MDX as a door lock double-check. No walk away confirmation beep on my 08 RDX and my door might have been unlocked for months before I discovered the actuator issue.

To hear the beeps when you are using the key fob press once wait a second press again.

The seller is stepping up and replacing the door actuator next month. I'll keep an eye on the battery to make sure it is not draining but I've not seen any issues yet.

Seller replaced the actuator. It worked for a couple weeks and now it is again dead. He said it does not seem to be getting any power to the actuator. We tried a 3rd actuator and the issue persists.

What else can be at fault? It does not seem to be just the actuator.
