20 MDX Legit Performance Chips?

Shipped a 2020 Aspec MDX to my parents out of country.

Technology there is advanced and they are able to flush the ECU to remove speed limiter and boost the HP a notch or 2.

Problem is the country doesn’t have Acuras in standard market so nobody actually has the proper equipment to connect to the OBD system. (So they know how to do it but the equipment needed is too expensive to purchase for a single ECU Flash.)

I need speed limiter removed and maybe some power gain.

NOW:

Has anyone tried any performance chips for this vehicle and have any input?

Are there any worth purchasing and running in your vehicle?

Or are those only o2 sensor manipulators for tricking ecu to run richer?

No chips that I know of. What country did you ship the car to?

No such a thing; Honda is milking about as much performance as possible from that motor.

Aftermarket performance chips/reflash, supercharger, suspension, brakes, and go fast parts (intake/headers/exhaust) really fell off the map when the +14 MDX hit the road. Best bet for performance is with Acura/Honda Turbo engines. The 1st/3rd Gen RDX with turbos can see 40-100 hp/tq increase with reflash and I/H/E/injectors starting at $300 and up. I imagine the 2022 MDX Type-S with the 355hp/354tq 3.0T will have a reflash in 2021/2022 to bump that power to +400 hp/tq.

The 17-20 MDX hybrid with 321 hp/289tq with Sport+ mode and electronic dampers is the performance and handling champ for the 3rd Gen MDX; but, the MDX A-Spec looks the best.

Wow it sounded like you bought the wrong vehicle. How are they going to have it serviced in the future if they can't even read OBD information?

LOL, I had to laugh at this comment, where is the technology more advanced that either here in the U.S. or over in Japan?

If they flush the ecu down the toilet then it will remove a lot more than the speed limiter.

Can't be that advanced if no one in the country has the equipment to connect to the ODB system.

Thorton Chip Tuning... Never heard of them, but are they legit? And does that specific chip help increase performance without any compromises? How long was the product been out? What's their success rate? So many questions for that specific chip as they are not the usual go-to tuners for Honda and Acura.

The sales guy over at Honda couldn't find the OBD port on the MDX, so chances are that a cheapo reader for us in the states is an arm and leg for them.

There's so many reasons why that chip is a scam that I don't know where to begin

I just looked up their website. The chip tuners are located in middle of nowhere Georgia state, while their superchargers is in middle of nowhere Washington. The contact us page links to the Washington address. Their 28 reviews up on their site right now are all 5 stars with the exception of 1 review being a 4 star. Literally its sketchy and definitely a scam. And when selected MY 2019, we got the TSX, TL, RL, Vigor, etc... all Acura models from the past and present. And it shows 8 cylinder as an option (never knew Honda put a V8 in Acura products these past 30 years).

Probably because he doesn't believe us and is going to buy that lame chip and then make claims of double the horse power and triple the fuel economy.

Yeah, that'll show us.

The only thing that came close to 8 cylinder power was a twin 1.5L engine and later 1.8L twin Honda CR-X was done by Car and Driver back in 1984.
