XXR 527 18x8.75 +35 & Tire size?

Hey guys,

I read a lot threads but never really started one. Anyway, my XXR 527 18x8.75 +35 came in last Friday and I must say, they are a lot sexier in person. So now, I'm looking at various tire sizes. I'm thinking of 235/40/18 or 245/35/18. What do you guys recommend?

Nice wheels! Thought about getting them at one point. maybe a 245/40/18 given the specs. According to online calcs, it looks like that tire size will get you within 1% diff from stock. This will keep your speedo reliable. I would double check whatever you decide with a local tire guy just to be sure.

235/40/18 is a little stretch but that's what I'm aiming for. I was reading on one of the guys in the TL section, he has 235/40/18 but wanna go a bit wider 245/35/18. But I'm not sure if it will rub once I lower it.

Anyway, Tire Rack has a really good deal going on now for the Continental ExtremeContact DW for $536 per set. DW Link I'm thinking of ordering these.

@Ed - Well, mines are 8.75, so isn't that a very small stretch? Or I could be wrong...

@swarlos - You're right swarlos. According to 1010tires.com size calculator, 245/40/18 gives a 0.55% diameter difference and 0.546% speedometer difference.

I'm going with a mild drop (.75"-1.25" range) since my car is an everyday work and family car.

If that's the case then 235/40 or 245/40 (for a cushier ride, more protection for the rims).

Great looking rims, I really like the spoke design. They remind me of the Weds TC105Ns.

You gotta do 225/40/18 for a mild stretch. Depending on the brand of tire it might not even look that stretched.

Thanks for everyone's inputs and suggestions. I ended up getting the Continentals ExtremeContact DW 235/40/18 and I should be getting them soon. Now, I gotta look for a set of TPMS so I can get them install soon.
