Wagon Coilovers
Does anyone know if the sedan coilovers will fit the wagon, or is any company making them for the wagon? I really want to pick up a wagon and throw some coils on it and some 20" DPE's. Please let me know if you guys have heard anything.......Thanks

considering the lack of interest from vendors in the CU2, its highly doubtful well see a wagon coilover set soon
maybe you could contact one of our vendors like xlr8 or heeltoe and see if they might be willing to let you test tein coilovers on a wagon. They might be interested to know the compatibility as well

You beat me to it... I was thinking of the same thing but never posted a thread.
I spoke to Throwdown and HeelToe about wagon suspension components and while the OEM component part numbers are different between wagon and sedan, both vendors seem to think sedan parts will work. What's interesting is that only the shock/strut and spring part numbers are different - most of the supporting hardware and components, IIRC, are the same, so I'm guessing the part numbers are different because the wagon may use higher spring rates and different valving. Any Honda/Acura techs around here?
I'm tempted to just buy some springs as a cheap(er) experiment, but I'd hate to go through the trouble of disassembling the stock shock/strut assembly and have it not work. I hate compressing springs. Anyway, if I really want to know, I gotta try it I guess. I'd only have to disassemble one front and one rear anyway. Or I could just risk a set of preassembled coilovers and I wouldn't have to deal with the disassembly, haha.
Please post updates if you find out too, thanks.

^yeah, i had the same train of thought. Springs might be out of the question, but adjustable coils (the teins) might be able to be adjusted to hold the weight of the rear. Not sure if theyll still cope with all the extra weight they wont be expecting but who knows

I've heard with the Subaru LGT wagons, they can suffer from saggy butt syndrome because they too use sedan springs, but apparently someone came up with some sort of spacer to help that. With coilovers, I guess you can either adjust the height to reduce the appearance of the sag, or do it the right way IMO, which is to request higher spring rate springs for the rears. I know Tein will put in any spring rate you want on their coilovers, and I'd assume others like H&R, BC Racing and Megan will do the same, although I'm not sure what the wait/order turnaround time would be. Depends on the vendor you go through I guess - some vendors have better relationships with the manufacturers and seem to get custom orders done more quickly than others.

Wow, thanks for all the responses guys. I do not have a wagon yet, but the only way I will buy one is if i can lower it put some wheels on it. There is just something about a stanced out wagon.I might have to email Tein or H&R and see what they have to say. I wish H&R would make them because I had their coils on my 06 TSX sedan, they rode great and went super low!

Well, because of the small market, I'm resigned to having little aftermarket support and was assuming there would be no wagon specific parts, which only leaves room for improvising, haha.

I bet you can get the ride height perfect with adjustable coilovers. They are after all adjustable. I think the shocks would have to be made special for the wagon though to deal with the extra rebound weight. Since the wagons huge ass sits on the springs and the shocks are always pushing back that extra weight they might have a premature wear rate on adjustable coils

Yup, that's what I was trying to say in post #6 - get sedan coilovers with stiffer springs in the rear. I know Tein will do it, and assume most other coilover makers will too. Killer raised a good point about the actual shock valving, but I think with stiffer springs and a higher dampening setting to match, it SHOULD work on a wagon. Wear over time could be a concern because of the increased weight, but assuming the spring rate is high enough and the shock settings are enough to handle the spring rate, it should work. Hypothetically speaking.
