tpms question

So, i bought new wheels for summer. Now I wanna buy TPMS for them.
On ebay found tpms only for 1g (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-GEN...Q5fAccessories). Will they work with 2G???

I found here information that droped cars have a problem with tpms. Is it true??

ThanX

There are a few people on here that had luck making the 42753-STK-A02-04 (RDX, MDX, 07-08 TSX) TPMS sensors work with the 2G TSX. I've done quite a bit of research and it seems like a hit or miss.
I found a set of RDX TPMS sensors for 50 bucks on ebay and just waiting for them to arrive. For 50 bucks, I can test it and if doesn't work, I'll sell 'em. But if it does work, I just saved myself 250 bucks from going to the dealership.
A little risk I'm willing to take. I'll install one first (instead of mounting all 4) just in case it doesn't work.
A few people already confirmed that it works, but I'll report if it works for me too.

No, what I mean to say is... If the RDX TPMS don't work, I'll sell it locally or on eBay. If it works I'll let you know so you can get a set of Rdx TPMS as well. They're definitely a lot cheaper than the ones for 2G TSX.

Is installing tpms "easy" or is it best to have someone else do it. I say "easy" because I do a lot of my work myself. Never looked into this though.

It is pretty straight forward. The challenge is depressing your tire to get the sensor out if you dont have access to a tire mounting machine. Just ask the guys who will mount your new tires to transfer your tpms. Make sure to get the repair kit either online or the tire shop who will be mounting your tires.

Anyone have a pic of what an installed TPMS Sensor looks like installed on a TSX wheel? I have read DIYs on this from other Forums, looks pretty "easy". Also what is the repair kit for? Is there adhesives that have to be fixed?

I'm sorry, I was under the impression you were transferring your original sensor. If you are getting a new sensor then you dont need the repair kit. If you are reusing your old one then the repair kit contains new seals that would ensure that there will be no leaks between the rim and stem.

Got it. I guess I was looking at either way. Do not have tpms sensors yet, was hoping to transfer but will talk to the person mounting tires first.

Thanks

If you dont plan to use your OEM wheels in the future why not just transfer your sensor so you wont have possible problems of sensors not pairing up. + you save a few bucks... If you plan to use your OEM wheels as winter wheels or something then its a different story.

That is what i was planning on doing just getting an over view in case. Anyone know if company I have move the TPMS will make sure seals are good or if i need to buy the repair kit just to hand to them to use?

Hey buddy! As promised, i'm reporting back my experience with the TPMS.
I just had the chance to install the wheels with TPMS sensors from an MDX (part # 42753-STK-A04).
I drove the car for a couple of minutes and the new TPMS sensors were detected automatically. No reprogramming needed.
Mine is an '09 TSX, and I'm not sure if it matters if it's an '09 or a '10, but the A04 worked with my '09 with no problems.
They're a lot cheaper than the original ones that came with the stock TSX wheels (50 bucks for a set of 4 vs. 300+ for a set of 4 for the original ones).
Hope this helps.

Note: I believe the A02, A03 and A04 are practically the same (used for MDX, RDX, and 1G TSX).
