Tire help needed

hello

I have a set of 19x8 and I was planning on getting some invo's in 235/35/19

The guy I spoke to said the load index is too low on that size and I should go 245/35/19 as that size is a better fit and the index rating is right

can anyone chime in on this?
thanks in advance

Need more specifics such as model name. The load index should be listed with the other specs. It is usually a mid to high 90s number.

They are both about equal in the reviews, buy the less expensive one.

Discount Tire shows all 235/35/19 tires in stock as having a 91 rating and all 245/35/19 as having 93. 91 = 1356 lbs and 93 = 1433. You get 77 lbs per tire extra with the 245/35/19. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=35

Is the lower profile that big of a deal to you?

its a matter of getting the right size
you have to be within 3% or it messes up the car correct? so not sure what the proper size should be

ok this is where my confusion comes in

i went to 1010tires.com and used the calculator and it says you have to stay within 3% and shows 235/35 as the best fit

but tire rack and discount tire tell me 235/40 is the right fit
but the 1010 calculator says that tire is too tall

so thats' why I'm confused

I think all the confusion is over the "3%" rule, and because they're applying it wrong. The tires don't have to be within 3% of the OE size (though there is such a thing as too big or too small), they need to be within 3% of each other. So.... for those that feel the need to stagger (and sorry, I'm of the opinion that it looks pretty dumb on a FWD car), different profiles (aspect ratio) are OK, just make sure that the tire diameters of the front and rear tires are within 3% of each other or you might muck up some of the electronic nannies (anti-lock, ant-skid, traction control, etc).

245/40/19 is perfect all the way around. That was my first set up before I went staggered with 245/40 and 275/35

for a 19x8 you will want 245/35/19. That is what I have and I am lowered on coilovers. anything smaller will look stupid

245/35 looks way too small in the rear. Maybe I am old school, but I prefer things to be symmetrical. Hence, I went with 245/40 and 275/35.

You need 245/35R19 with at least a 93V speed and load rating.

The original tire size of 225/50R17 has a diameter of 25.85" and the 245/35R19 have a diameter of 25.79".

You have to stay within 3% of the original diameter to not effect your spedometer, abs, etc.
