Should I?
Should I?
So my rims is arriving tomorrow according to FedEx tracking, and I've bought Tein S Tech from Marcus. But now i am having second thoughts about it because:
1. Derwood's issue with tires feathering
2. My car already has 36k miles, and I don't want my shocks to blow anytime soon.
Should I wait until aftermarket shocks (ie Koni) are available before I lower my car?
Opinions/suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

Well, regarding the tire feathering issue, it's really a non-issue. Just get a new alignment.
However, regarding installing your springs, I'd wait for a set of coilovers if you're going to wait. If not, your stock struts should last for a while with the S-Techs.
Aftermarket wheels look a bit off on cars that aren't lowered.

So you think it should last a while? like 6 months to a year? I'm only buying the S techs because I dont have the money for basics and i wanna put rims on and drop the car lol.
Once i have enough money for basics im switching the S techs out.
I wouldn't consider my post on the tires feathering (I'm thinking it's not even feathering and just odd wear due to the negative camber) as an "issue". It's really not that big a deal. If it is a big deal to you, get a camber kit and don't worry about it. Don't let that scare you away from lowering your car.

I am on my second set of wheels and I still havent decided what to lower my car on....there's 3 years left on my lease and I want springs but I dont want to blow my shocks. But at the same time coilovers are so expensive especially since i live in canada.
My shocks still seem to be fine and I've been on the Eibachs for nearly a year now. Who know's they could last 50K miles for all I know, I know others have been able to go that long (some longer, most shorter) on the stock struts. I'll eventually swap in something else when they become available.
I think you'd be fine for a while.

Thanks everybody, i really appreciate all of your inputs!!
As of now I've got the rims on my car (No TPMS though, tire shop said TPMS doesnt fit my rims). I will lower my car as soon as Marcus gives me the heads up to go pick up those S techs.

I've run Eibach sportlines and H&R race springs on honda cars before on stock springs and it's been my experience that the stock shocks can last quite a while before needing replacing. I'd just start lowering it and worry about the shocks when it actually happens.
I see, good to know that the stock shocks are strong coming from someone who's been modding Hondas. After all, im a honda noob (I come from a long line of rotaries lol)
