How low can you go, how low can you go?
Hi all -- I've been lurking this forum for quite some time, and finally decided to post. "Hello!" I own a 09 in PWP that I use primarily for work reasons (ie. shuttling clients, looking like a grown up, etc)
See picture: http://tinypic.com/r/2djta9s/7
I have finally worn through the factory equipped tires and am ready to install a set of 19" Liquid Silver Ron Jon Legends - http://www.ronjonwheels.com/legend.html
I love the lowered look, however, I can I get away without lowereing?
Reasons for not lowering:
In Ron Jon's gallery I really dig this car's ride height:
But... what do you guys think?
Thanks for your time!

I love the lowered look, however, I can I get away without lowereing?
Reasons for not lowering:
- I currently have a the "Aero" sports bumper installed up front, the thing often barely escapes steep inclines and has scratched the underside many a time (See picture: http://tinypic.com/r/288qb1x/7 -- on an average ramp)
- I am frequently in and out of skyscraper underground lots with steep steep parking lot ramps
- I live in Toronto, Canada -- and there are a couple bad storms per year (One of my clients, RIM is out of the city in the sticks, so... I'm driving driving)
- The plastic shield under my car has already been ripped off... eek!
Now the dilemma, can I get away with the wheels installed on my current set-up without looking ridiculous?- I am frequently in and out of skyscraper underground lots with steep steep parking lot ramps

Not sure what the drop is? 1.0" with the Eibach Pro Kit maybe? Who knows!http://www.ronjonwheels.com/ronjonim...rge/tsx111.jpg

Ahhh... good example. On Monday, we're pitching to some clients. They're flying in early morning, so I'll pick them up / drop them off to the airport for that "extra" touch.
But most of the time is during a lunch meeting or whatnot...

i think in the examples in the picture is just photoshoped, but looked to be about 1" drop, such as eibach.
i think that's the best you can do to stay with the professional look and avoid scraping 24/7

I agree with that. The underbody of the stock set-up is already quite low!
Would the car look hideous -- grotesque wheel gap -- with said wheels and stock suspension?
Thanks!

Welcome fellow Torontonian. We've got a few of us on here now. Don't worry about Toronto storms...my previous car was lowered 2 inches and I just plowed snow sometimes. Going out to Waterloo shouldn't be a problem--the highways get plowed early and often enough.
That drop is almost for sure an Eibach Prokit. You can tell cause the front looks a little higher than the rear. Take a look at my car or Mr. Oto's for another example. Tein springs lower more in the front so the front and rear look even. Having the factory kit won't make any difference.

Thanks for the info!
I've had a few lowered cars before (RSX, Celica...) but something about this factory bodykit just bothers me -- mainly because I scraped on a few steep inclines. I'll give it a go and see what happens![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I was thinking Tein -- but -- like the even look, not sure if that's just too low... grrr... hate being old.
Getting a GT-R as my summer ride come spring though, so, hence the hesitation for further car craziness![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
(loving your car set up btw! 5-2)
