Tsx poor paint quality!!!!!

I am posting again on this topic! I have Crystal Black Pearl and man.... I literally breathe on the paint and it scratches!!!!! Any suggestions on how to fix small scratches on black paint?

They are not deep but annoying! I really don't think Acura put any Clear coat on the TSX! My TLS is like... um BULLET PROOF from scratching!

Anybody else experiencing this? My front end looks like a shotgun went off on it!!!

The black paint always shows imperfections the most. I think you'll need to get a DA and buff out those scratches.

Thepaint on my 06 tsx is terrible-chips easy-
We bought a 2011 venetian red 6MT Hyundai Sonata on 7/27. It now has 3,000+miles. I am very impressed with how well the car is made and the quality of the paint.

Wet sand the parts of the car that has scratches then clay bar the whole car. Then after ur done doing that uses either a compound or good polish I used wolf gangs scratch and polish set. Then use a good sealant that will keep the shine after washes and make the paint more able to get less scratches. It takes basically the whole day but it is well worth it.

My clear coat gets a lot of fine scratches in it. I have the Vortex Blue. I use a car wash and they just rub the dirt around on your car.

I would recommend Zaino products as well. I have CBP as well and am very satisfied with the results.

GbosilTLS07, we have a 2010 PMM TSX V6 Tech and a 2007 ASM TL-S and agree 100%. The paint job on the TL is much better than the TSX. Our three year old TL looks better than our five month old TSX. Overall, very disappointed with the TSX. The TL-S is a much nicer car. Wish I could buy another one. Had a major sunroof leak with the TSX, settled out of court via a lemon law claim through an attorney, very, very long story.

Obviously to keep the TSX at this price point Acura is skimping in certain areas and the paint quality is one of them! I have owned numerous black cars before and believe me none of which scratched or chipped so easily. I cringe when I have to take it to the dealer now. My first service at 9K I had the windshield wipers replaced and later that week noticed on the hood close to the lip there was a 4 inch x .25 scratch on the hood! Obviously they hit it when changing out the wipers. I don't think there is any clear coat on the car!!! My 07' TLS now looks better than my 2010 TSX! I also use Zaino products and am a fanatic when it comes to car care as in my younger days used to detail Exotic cars.

Actually the answer is the Eco-Friendly water based paint which Acura now must use. Just keep a good coat of wax on your car such as P21S or Menzerna.

Is it me or when ever somthing is eco friendly or green it does not work? We are killing the earth in a million ways, so just give me a clear coat that protects better then butter rubbed on the car.

Primer Coat

I've got the black V6 too and you are so right about scratches. I'm my worst enemy too. I've had 12 Hondas and Acuras and they were all like that except a beige one that just didn't show scratches like the darker colors.

I've found the best wash technique is to run it through a touchless wash or power wash before a hand wash and wax. That way you're not rubbing dirt into the clear coat.

I could never understand why manufacturers don't tint the primer coats so that scratches don't show up.

Same problem here. I have the Pearl White. Just hit 10k miles. No matter how careful I am, e.g. parking away from other cars, etc., this car easily scratches. My '06 Mazda looks better than this '10 TSX.
