Streaky Wipers - 2009 TSX

Guess I've been enduring this for about three years but am I find the OEM insert wipers tend to be very streaky in the rain, even after a new replacement. Do many of you use the rubber inserts for the OEM blades or have you had better success converting to something different? Any recommendations?

I have a set of the fancy Rain X blades for winter. They are thicker in contruction and work better pushing snow and ice around.

I do the rubber inserts for the OEM wiper arms. Just replaced in the last 3 mo's. They do streak in light mists or with windshield fluid. I don't notice it streaking in heavy rain though. It's almost like they need more water to not streak.

Might also be due to the windshield. It's been awhile since I gave it a good cleaning. Usually take a plastic blade or detailer's clay and clean up stuck on junk.

Yeah that's a good point actually. It's usually with lighter rain when I dread using my wipers because I know it'll be streaky.

I found the OEM wipers to suck also. I think Bosch or Rain-X are better alternatives. Also I'd highly recommended buying that Rain-X repellent spray. Works wonders. In light rain, half of the time I don't even need the wipers, the rain literally beads right off.

I love rain-x. If you travel highway with rain-x on your windshield you likely won't need wipers at least in my experience you don't! I just got my TSX a monthish ago and haven't had a chance to apply it, regretting not taking the time to do it so far..

Just buy oem inserts and replace them. A lot cheaper than replacement wipers and they're super easy to replace. I still have the stock ones that came with my 2010. If you're experiencing streaking with them, I'd suggest cleaning the blades and cleaning your windshield often.

I did the OEM inserts at the beginning of this summer. They were good for about 2 weeks, then streaking started occurring again. I've cleaned the glass many times during my routine wash (including the wipers themselves), but it didn't help much. I think the metal strips are slightly bent from usage during last winter

I want to attempt the inserts again because they're a much cheaper option, but I'm also afraid they continue to streak Also, contact isn't so good anymore on the passenger side. Although it wipes pretty much all the water off, I can't get the lightest smudges off, whereas I used to be able to. I think the rubber is just barely but fully touching the windshield such that the water gets off but any smudging pretty much stays on until my next wash.

I've had good luck with the inserts on previous Hondas. The TSX got replaced right before I bought it according to dealer paperwork and they work OK, still want to put rainX on the windshield though.
