speckled windshield, visible when facing the sun
does anyone else notice that the windshield has tiny dots throughout? it's not dirt, it's not scratches, it's not deposits...it's always been there, but lately it's really been annoying me.
is it normal? it certainly looks like crap under any sunlight, not to mention the awful glare from the textured dashboard, but that's a whole other story.

yea....i have seen this. I found that claybarring my windsheild inside and out then cleaning with a good cleaner seemed to get rid of a lot of the small little specks. not sure that this will help you but it did get mine a little clearer.

While y'all are at it...whatever you do...DON'T measure from the center of your left wheel to top of the fenderwell and then compare it to the measurement on the right...therein you will find the "Honda Lean" and will see your car sitting lower on the drivers side from then on...and it will be all you see. Heh heh.

yes, i have that too. also on the side and rear window. i used Simple Green with a wash mitt and let it soak in while i washed the rest of the car. it helped. not perfect, but it looks like the problem was addressed.

My '09 had that by the time I traded it in. I just attributed it to wear over time.

For some relevant content,. try some superfine steel wool. It's good for removing overspray & sap from your windshield.
Or, clay bar would work too.

It's normal. The windshield is particularly vulnerable if you drive allot on the highway and/or live where they have winter. The crappy roads (sand and salt) do a job on it. I replace mine every few years because of it and it doesn't seem to matter who the windshield provider is; it will get pitted over time. Replacement may seem excessive, but to me it's just a cost of doing business if you drive allot (like changing out wiper blades, tires, etc.). I consider it a wear item (oh, and I let my insurance company pay for it).

HD would like to see more posts from Simba around here...not that it has anything to do with the hottie in his avatar or anything.

I have to disagree with this reply. My 2011 TSX has serious windshield pitting from day one but, you only see it with sun shinning directly in front of the car. None of the other glass on the car had the pitting. I have recently had a loaner 2012 TL and 2012 TSX that did not have any of the fine pitting. Polishing the windshield helps but replacement is the only fix.

Not much you can do about this. It will get worse if you follow vehicles too closely in the winter-time (with snow & all the other garbage) or if you get into a "wind-event" while driving in the mountains..........pretty much get sand blasted by small rocks.

clay bar and or polish with a mild abrasive pad/polish.
its most likely sap.
i get it all the time and doesnt go away til i polish or clay it.
just cleaning it never seems to work.
