Scraped rim on curb!!!!

Hey, i am always so carefule when parking next to a curb becuase i am so nervous that i will scratch my rims on it. Well i was super careful, but i came across a F***ED up curb with a peice sticking out that scratched my rim up around the outer edge. Is there anyhting easy that can be done to rectify this?

No easy fix that I know of. Price a new wheel from one of the dealer sponsors here & compare it to 800-fix a rim or Turbax or Hubcap Annie or Hubcap Heaven. (Do a google search.)

Or go to car-part.com and find a local salvage yard that has one from a wrecked car.

Or, look on this site under the classifieds for available stockies.

I scraped mine on a curb a couple months ago. Wasn't bad, but I noticed it. I watched eBay and found an Acura dealer who was selling OEM wheels. They were from customers who upgraded their wheels at the time of the sale. I got a brand new one (well, it probably had a couple miles on it) for $170.

I believe there are a couple threads on this over in 1G. Do a search over there and you should find them.

Scratched rim

Can you buy some gray spray paint to sort of make it blend. YOu might not get the exact color, but it may look less obvious.

Check out the forum, go to yellowpages or craiglist to look for wheel repair shops.

The average rim repair cost is around $100, for more extensive damage they can run upto $200, which is still cheaper than $400 replacement cost from dealer.
