Rattling Sunglasses Compartment

Anyone else have this? Whenever I turn the radio up and there is any bass at all, the sunglasses compartment has this awful plastic rattle with each bass hit that sounds awful.

The speakers on my car sound great but I can never jam out because of this

Thinking I'll see if I can fit one of those anti-sliding little circles somewhere in there or anything like that to absorb the rattle.

Add some moleskin (felt) to the inside of the compartment to keep stuff inside from rattling and then add just the tiniest amount around the lip where the door latches. You don't need a lot - just enough to keep the door from touching the roof console.

I had the same issue, my sunglasses were causing it to rattle; I just stopped using that compartment =/

Let us know if it works and if the moleskin pans out

Well I know its not the sunglasses in there because it happens whether or not I have them in there. I have to just hold my finger to it to stop the rattle. Moleskin is exactly what I need probably, thanks ceb

Figured it out. Turns out it isn't the sunglasses compartment, it's the little piece that has all of the garage door opener buttons. Bitch rattles around so much and I haven't got a clue how to get the from rattling besides shoving something in the crack which won't look great.. That thing seems like its just loose and floating in there.

Still under warranty? Take it to the dealer. If you try to fix and break it it'll be on your dime.

Yeah still under warranty. It just doesn't seem broken though, just seems like a design flaw really. Can someone with a 09 check out their trim piece and see if its firmly seated in there or if it has some movement like mine does before I take it into the dealer? I'm down at school right now and there isn't an Acura dealer in town and I won't have the chance to take it in for a month or so.

My 2012 is quite tight and that spot doesn't rattle.

Jordan, I have an 09 with the same problem. I might have even posted about it a while back. I'll take a look at that piece and get back to you.

Same problem! took my car in about 2 weeks ago to get my replacement grille and they stuffed the garage opener thing with felt at no charge.

I just used some little felt pieces you use to keep furniture from scratching the floor. Had some lying around, work like a charm.

I had this problem also. Used a sliver of chamois and packed it around the edges with an exacto knife edge. No more noise.

^sounds like what I'm going to end up doing.

Currently have a piece of ripped gum packaging stuffed into it. Looks like shit, but works and was the only thing in the car that I could shove up in there to fix it when I realized what was going on. Now it just stays there.

Can't decide if I feel like taking it into the stealership and complaining and seeing what kind of BS they give me on how it'll be a 2 day fix and what else they break in the process.

Had the same issue, but as KillerG said, it was due to my sunglasses, so I dont use it.
