I noticed today that a portion of my driver side headliner is wet, due to the rain overnight. Anyone have a idea of why this would happen, and how to fix it?...
When I squeeze my thumb on that section, you can see the water drip.
This whole section appears to be damp and closer to the right is wet.
looks like drain is clogges BUT could also be disconnected. more LIKELY clogged.
I think you can see the drains from the top. you could gently try some computer duster air.
the foolproof way is to take down headliner and clear the lines but the can may work.

there are usually 4 drains......
I found two drains one, to the right and one to the left.
I stuck a untwisted hanger down the left hole, not sure if that will help.

Pour a little water in and see if it drains out. Since you car was wrecked, it is also possible that the moonroof is not sealing properly but a plugged drain is most likely.
If you open the sunroof and look at it from the outside there are actually channels around the frame that allow water to go around the headliner to prevent it from getting wet in case of a leaky seal. At each corner of the sunroof is a hole connected to drain tubing above the headliner where each tube individually drains to its closest wheel well (i.e. the tube at the front driver side of the sunroof drains right behind the driver's side front tire). You can confirm whether or not one of the drain tubes is plugged by pouring water in to each corner of the sunroof while it is open. Make sure not to use so much water that it overwhelms the drains, but at some point you should see water dripping out from behind both front tires or in front of both rear tires.
To get a better understanding, here is a parts diagram.
And of course, make sure the sunroof is fully closed. I, um, may have had a similar experience once and it was because the sunroof was popped up but the slider panel was closed and I didn't see it.
So after blowing compression air, and sticking a untwisted hanger down the drain hole. I went to a car wash and it didnt seem to leak. Also it rained yesterday and I havn't noticed the issue anymore.
Your guys advice seemed to do the trick, thank you and I appreciate it!
So weird this thread came up. I am currently having the same issue. Driver side area leaking. It gets damp where the A pillar meets the headliner (near the air bag logo). This occurs when it rains.
If I get a car wash, it will leak (get damp) further down on the A-pillar, like near where the pillar meets the dash. But not where the headliner meets the pillar.
I have cleaned the drain plug on that side, blew compressed air (I have an air compressor), also pushed a wire hanger through. Then poured a bunch of water through the plug and verified that it was draining out behind the front wheel.
It still leaks, and I have no idea what else to do. Dealer said they will charge $130 to have a 3rd party company come out and diagnose. Then whatever the cost on top of that to fix (since they have no idea what it could be).
It's a 2010, payed off with 40K miles. I'm thinking of just getting it looked at by another company and paying. I know it's just a matter of time before it starts to get mold and discolored.

I'm having the same issue on an 04 TL and was looking for answers. Couldnt find any yet. i tried sealing the roof guides but that has not been working
I also on occasion when it rains hard and car is left out the headliner get wet toe=ward the front where the map lights are.
I will try to clean out the drains, but...
Can the gasket around the glass sun roof be replaced if needed??
If it's not a plugged sun roof drain then it must be a windshield leak.
There is a breach in the polyurathane sealant to windshield or the windshield opening pinch weld on the top edge of the windshield opening. Allowing water to treavel through to the inside. Once inside the headliner is drawing the water to the whole corner area.
To check you need to remove the A pillar trim and the headliner (partial). Run water over the roof down to the top edge of the windshield. Once you are over the correct spot water will seep in. It may be hard to see so us a dry napkin to check for dampness.
Once leak is detected you can reseal it with windshield polyurathane sealant. In some cases the window may need to be reset. Meaning cut out and reinstall.
To reseal it you need to remove the trim around the glass. Some are moldings others are wrap around the glass and glue in, depends on the the maker.
If you're not sure what to do call a windshield glass guy he will know what to do.
What did you end doing to address the leak(s)? I'm having the same problem with my 2013 TSX except on the passenger side. I'm trying to figure out how to get at the drain tube from the end near the drain valve. My passenger carpet is wet and I just noticed that the rear, passenger side carpet is damp too.

I had noticed that the side storage area on the driver side of my 2012 TSX wagon was occasionally damp. I thought it was snow that had gotten inside and melted, but today we had an absolute deluge while I was out running some errands. I noticed water slowly dripping from the little vent area right above the side compartment door while loading groceries into the boot.
any idea what this could be? It looks like there’s a rear drainage port based on the diagram above, I may have to start there.
