Question Odd Gas Pedal Feedback

I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing the same thing as I am. I have a 2009 TSX Premium auto and noticing odd vibration in the gas pedal when driving.

When accelerating or cruising around (more noticeable at about 60-70km/h) there's a weird vibration that I can definitely feel in my driving foot. I can only describe the feedback as feeling like something is rubbing/slightly grinding against something else near or with the pedal.

It does not seem to be something of major concern, but it definitely does bug me. Has anyone else noticed this as well?

Not to sound like a jerk, but have you looked at the floor mat to see if it's being rubbed by the pedal?

Our cars are drive-by-wire, meaning there's no longer a cable that actuates the throttle, it's done by an electric signal that uses a little electric motor to open and close the throttle...so...there shouldn't be any vibration transmitted through the pedal.

Yup I've checked. It's definately not the floor mats but some type of vibration in the pedal. I would think there would be no vibration as you mentioned because of the drive-by-wire so that's why I was a little concerned.

When I go in for service, I'll bring it up with the dealer. But any comments are welcomed. I'm wondering if only I am experiencing this.

Yup, no vibration here. Have your dealer check it out.

I have the same annoyance on my TSX. It doesn't happen always though. I'm guessing it has something to do with the condition of the road you are driving on, the pedal may be a little loose and needs tightening.

i have an appointment with my dealer tomorrow for a couple of things and ill be sure to bring this up.

ill update you as soon as i get back from having my car looked at. hopefully its nothing serious.

Went to the dealer today.

They checked it out and said its caused by road vibration. why? because the stock michelins on the tsx are terrible.

So true. I notice this in my car too. The vibrations are transmitted to the pedal through the firewall. So would will feel this more on rough roads, while at idle and sometimes while accelerating.
