Hmm, I guess I can't PM you since you're new here.

FWIW, I don't know whether the fix listed above was for a windage...ballast? in the tank or sound deadening on the floor pan above the tank.

Scroll to the top of this thread and ask the person who posted that it was fixed.

Bringing up an old thread because of an article I read in my recent issue of Car and Driver. Apparently, there are new plastic gas tanks being used (for weight saving and emissions purposes) that unfortunately have the side-effect of hearing the fuel slosh around. I'm not sure what kind of tank the TSX uses, but this might be the cause.

For anyone interested, the article is called "Tanks for Not Noticing" from the November 2010 issue of C&D, pg. 38.

Hey, this makes sense. My TSX does the same noise. Never heard it on any other Honda before. It's not a huge issue and if it is to save weight...At least having a reasonable explanation eases the pain a bit

While I have not noticed the water noise, I have had a bunch of problems with my car as well. Got it brand new in May, and since then have had the following go wrong:
1. Brakes squealing (TSB: replaced rear pads and put spring in front)
2. drivers door handle sticking (replaced)
3. Rear speaker deck rattle (TSB)
4. noise coming from rear (loose change), still not fixed (they did the TSB wedge and replaced both rear struts)
5. pinging under 50-80% acceleration (TSB: replaced the knock sensor and re flashed the ECU)

My car has been to the shop 3 times already, and I only have ~8k miles. This is not why I bought an Acura, and if they can't fix the noise next time I take it in, I really don't know what I'm gong to do.

The gas tank noise does go away is your tank is 3/4 full. I have never seen a car that makes this kind of noise, im sick and tire of the of the little problems with the tsx. After 6 months of ownership, i stopped caring about the rattles and noises. As long as there is no safety issue, i wont waste my time and money on the car any more. Just accept the fact that this is not a well built car.

I just heard the loose change sound coming from the rear for the first time driving last night. every time i hit a bump, or speed up. i thought it could be something i had put in the car, but i would still hear it even when cruising and there werent any bumps in the road.

anyone find out what causes that?

I just bought a 2012 TSX SE 6-spd. And when I filled it up I did hear the fuel sloshing in the back. It does go away once the fuel in the tank has dropped down a bit.
No loose change sound though, in fact the car is extremely quiet compared to my 2008 RDX that I sold to get the 2012 TSX.

now this is getting annoying. on top of the loose change sound coming everytime i drive over 10 mph, there is now another sound. only when i am reversing there is a whining sound coming from the back. it only happens when i apply the brakes, but doesnt stop if i let the brake go. it only stops when i come to a full stop.

any ideas?

I dropped my car off for service today, and the whining noise was from the brakes.
but the other loose change sounds, the techs all say its from the gas. that if you dont put in premium, which i do use, and say try a different gas station.
But i just find it hard to believe that the gas makes that sound. it isnt coming from the engine, the sound is from the rear of the car. and is much louder outside of the car.
I have always read that others have heard sloshing of the gas, i have never heard it in mine, but this is definitely not that type of sound.
this is like there is a chain dragging on the ground. how can it be a gas problem?
is there a TSB for this i can refer them too?

I have another issue too, if I auto down the driver window and then auto it up, it recoils and goes back down instead

anyone else have this issue?
