Need help with cv joint / tein ss install gone wrong

I was installing my tein ss today and one side went ok, the other side was being difficult.

I couldn't get the shock fork to go down
After a lot of forcing, I noticed grease coming out of the small side of the cv boot. I think the fork pushed the boot and it started leaking

I tried to pull the boot back into place but it doesn't move. I tried to move it with pliers too but nothing

Do I have to break the factory clamp and put more goop in it and reclamp it?

If loss was small (perhaps a tablespoon or less), I would cut strap, reposition boot, and reclamp. I've used long plastic wire tire as temporary strap if time is an issue.

good luck

Shove a flat head screw driver into the the downward point of that clamp, then twist it off or grab needle nose pliers if you're struggling with it. Find a video on inner tie rod replacement if you need a visual. That clamp has to come off when replacing the inner tie rod.

Word of caution, that clamp is a one time use item, so once you destroy it, have another one ready or use zip ties for temporary fix.
