Lumbar support

I have EURO with leather seats with a lumbar support. I don't know if TSX have it too. This thing has some leaver to adjust the settings. I am 181 cm tall, so lets say very average, and I have to say that I love lumbar support.

But this thing on my EURO is one piece of crap. It feels it is nothing else than a tube across my back. Even on the lowest setting it constantly breaking my back! Guys, is it any way how to turn this off completely? I have driven CLK55 AMG and this was THE lumbar support. This is the tortural.

If you push the lever as far as it will go in one direction then the lumbar support is, effectively, turned off.

I agree with you, it's not a very sensitive system but, if you persevere, you do get used to the induced numbness

HHCZ, I'm sensing that you're not too impressed with this car!

haha, get used to I think that is the only way

Sadly I am really not too impressed now I was afraided of the engine and tranny, but they are great. I was looking forward to comfort, and I had headache from suspension and broken back from the seat. This is a problem...

Hmm...CLK55 -v- TSX.

One of these things is not like the other.

Remove your seat, unzip and unclip the retainers and hog rings & see if you can remove the bar. As Silver mentioned, if it's all the way back, it is essentially defeated. Look into some Recaro's or Sparco seats as replacements if you dislike it that bad.

You'd lose your side airbags, but in all likelihood you could adapt the frame to keep the electric adjustment, and possibly swap over the heating elements too.

The most comfortable seats I've owned were from the 91 SE-R.

The most horrid? 1993 Ford Lightning pickup.

That's what I thought!

At the price point, I think the Accord/TSX is at least as good as the other cars out there in just about every area. It does have issues, I know, but so do the rest.

Lumbar Unit

I have had the misfortune to develop an annoying back ache. Someone asked didn't I have a Lumbar Support in my car? Had no idea so I broke out the owners manual and found sort of an arcaic lever. I yanked it both ways and found no relief so it was left in the off position I think. Nevver used them in the BMW's either, but they were power operated. Received an "Epidural" shot which so far has helped immensly. My '07 TSX most bug free car ever and I have owned many. No, not bugs.

So why can't we turn it off in the passenger seat? Makes no sense to me...I found that if I tilt the seat a little farther back than I normally would it alleviates the pain, with the lumbar "off" of course.

I tried the Honda Accord and when I tilt the seat back enough to avoid the annoying headrest from jutting into the back of my head, I found myself with a bar in the seat going across the middle of my back (not lower, not the lumbar position). Is this the same in the TSX?
