Hey everyone -

about a week ago, the lights over my license plate went out. I thought the lights were bad so I threw them out and went to advance auto parts and replaced them....only to find the new ones not illuminating either (so I figured its electrical problem)

I opened my fuse boxes and checked a bunch - but found nothing out of the ordinary.

The next day, my rear reds were out (my running light reds in the back - the ones always illuminated). MY brake lights work when I press the brake - but when I let my brake go...darkness...


Then a day later, my front left blinker/yellow light went out. WHen I lock/unlock my car, it doesn't blink, and when my headlights are on, it doesn't come on. But, when I turn my blinker on, it illuminates....

Does anyone have any explanation at alllll?!?! I am sooo confused and would like to save myself a trip to the stealership...

 

Very odd.

First of all, is your light switch on Auto. There are four positions on the light switch. If it's on Auto and it's daylight outside, then only the Daytime running light will be on (basically your high beam at reduced power).

1-Off
2Parking and instrument panel lights
3-AUTO
4-Headlights on

Switch the light to position 4, Headlights on position, then check if your parking lights goes on (front and rear). Is it just one side not illuminating or both? If they still don't lit up, bring it to the dealer.

 

nope....in all modes, my front left blinker does not illuminate (unless i put on blinker), my back red lights don't work (unless i brake), and my lights over my license plate are out.....


why is my car being so f***'n wacky!??!?

 

Sounds like a ground issue might want to take it in to the dealer.

 

sounds like a head light switch. check your fuses, or yes a ground problem.
