So seems we all have this common issue with the key fob.
besides ordering a new replacement, have any of you tried any other solutions?
On my old 8thgen Civic the buttons were just plain rubber but they never faded for the 8 years that I owned it. TSX in the other hand, driver 1 is all beat up and now driver 2 is the same
At least you are lucky enough to have 2 keys. Dealer only gave me one.
Its a high wear item. Gonna wear out no matter what. I was thinking of grabbing some model kit car paint and putting some fancy colors on the buttons .. but it'll eventually wear off.
Just don't look at the buttons. I do it all by feel now anyways.
Same thing happened to mine. I scratched off the remaining silver and used basic acrylic paint and filled in the button images. Not perfect but I did it fairly quickly. I've also had the paint on there for like 6 months.
If you have new ones used clear nail polish in the buttons to delay(maybe prevent) the wear and tear.
I just order some knock off replacement buttons on ebay, I was thinking on laying some coats of clear on it before install, might check out what kind of clear polish my wife has now lol

I like what you did there
I been also thinking of plastic dip but might wear off/come off faster.. maybe.
Received my ebay key button replacements. Only difference is that the buttons are silver instead of the chrome color. Overall I am happy with the replacements ($8.00) and now I have spare buttons to mess with and try out different paints as suggested by others.
Ha... so does mine... so i scraped off the silver just like others did...
I don't understand why Acura is not so detailed oriented company... at least that's how i see it looking at the key fob...
Give me quality key fob if the car is premium!!
Well there you go... Not really a premium car, not really a quality fob!
But in all seriousness, I wonder if there was a manufacturing change at some point. I've had my key in my pocket with a bunch of other keys and a small multitool, nearly every day for over a year and have no problem with the buttons.
The laser etching on the back plastic has just about worn off, and the "A" logo is pretty beat up, but the front is in good shape.
What is the latest model year with chipping? Or perhaps i am just lucky...

well... i guess...
mine is 2013 and that paint etched off around 2 month mark... it looked ugly so i did what everybody else did... scraped that thing to black... but man... tsx is sexy as hell but the key looks like they had no regards for...
After seeing icu2tsx's post, I found and purchased a set of the buttons on eBay. I am not sure if they are just duplicates or if they are OEM but, for what it's worth, the back of the new button assembly has a Honda stamp.
Comparison pic: the remote on the top is the one I just replaced the buttons on (driver 1) and the remote on the bottom has the original buttons (driver 2). They are slightly different, but not enough that anyone would notice.
