Hey guys,

I just picked up a 2012 4-cylinder TSX A-Spec (Special Edition) after selling my 2003 TL-S A-Spec a few weeks ago.

Although the car does not feel as raw and powerful, it's definitely more luxurious and comfier than the TL. I say it is worth the trade-off especially when the car will serve as a daily driver.

So with that being said, is there anything I should pay special attention to in regards to this car? (e.g., TL had a high rate of transmission failure).

Thanks!

nice pickup. which wheels are those?

2011 and up should be clear of most early issues.

Thanks! Any previous concerns regarding the transmission of this gen? I ask this because I'm a bit sketchy of Acura's automatic transmissions. My ideal choice was a 6mt, but I couldn't wait around any longer after selling my car (school, work, etc).

What else were some common issues for this car?

&

They are OEM 18" TSX A-Spec wheels. I believe the A-Spec package was exclusive to Canada, but they are not my cup of tea lol

I believe this is the Special Edition for the US.

Yeah OP is correct. OEM 18" A-Spec delta wheels. I think they're one of the best looking OEM wheels ever made! But like anything else, it's not everyone's cup of tea. I know how it feels to try and get the 6MT but unable to do so because they were so hard to come by... still a pretty fun daily driver though, 6MT or not

Where in Canada you from? And welcome

Congrats!

You don't have to worry about the transmission like with the 2G TL/3G pre 07

Completely forgot about this thread. Thanks, and yes reside in GVRD!

Here are a few pictures on how the car sits thus far. Just picked up some coilovers too, but won't be installing them until April.

That's just a shadow beside the license plate

EZ lip is probably going to go. Friend had a pack laying around and I decided to experiment with it lol

Just had it lowered, so here's my edition of Shit Fitment Saturdays:

Excuse the dirty car

Car was on a slant, so it doesn't normally sit this low :P

Next up: fender rolling and some spacers

Finally decided to post up a video. You will need a sub or something that can detect lower frequency sounds in order to hear the true nature of the exhaust.

It sounded like shit on my iPhone 6S, and my laptop. Plugged in some speakers, and it was waaaaay better.

I actually just slapped on 25mm H&R spacers all around. Rear is still a bit cambered in, but getting a camber kit soon.

Beautiful car.

I like the console cover around your Trans and your cupholder. Much better material/looking than the stuff on my USDM ugly wagon.

Finally installed my Modulo/Sports bumper with the Accord grill. Going to black out the outer trim of the grill, but so far I'm loving the look.

Dipped the outer trim of the grill. This is how the car currently sits (needs a cleaning).

Wheels or a lip/splitter is up next. Anyone have recommendations for wheels that are not overly expensive?

I picked it up at my local dealership, and since I have a mutual friend with the parts manager, I paid $415USD painted.

It should be on acuraoemparts.com

Decided to pick up a Modulo rear bumper, and put back on a painted USDM grill for the front. Slapped back on my Acura badge in the rear and got rid of the Type-S as well.

Looking to pick up wheels soon for the summer. I have my eyes on some CR Kais....but I'm not sure yet haha
