ive noticed a problem that it bothersome looking for a fix.

ive noticed from many times dropping people off or simply getting out of the car while its running, you must click the unlock button to open the car, in almost every car ive ever been in if you open the door the door will unlock and open is there anyway to fix this or is this normal? by the way i have a 2010 TSX V4 Tech.

it's normal. you can set the car to not lock the doors when you put it into drive or once you hit a certain MPH, IIRC. i never really understood why you'd want to lock the doors unless you had mischievous kids in the back seat, but even then, you wouldn't want them to be able to open the locked door anyway, right?

check your manual; if you hold the info button (i think) on the steering wheel while you're stopped, you can cycle through 5 or 6 menus and you'll find it in there.

yes, you can set the car to unlock the doors when you put the transmission in P. people usually want to lock their doors so people from the outside can't just open it while you're at a stoplight or something.

and btw, there is no such thing as a v4, it's an i4, for inline 4.

i think you may have misunderstood my question, i already have it set it so in park it unlocks doors and once you hit a certain speed all the doors lock, but i want it so even when im in Drive cuz normally i dont park to drop people off, i want it so they can just open the door by pulling the handle, every car ive ever been in allows people to do this.

How you have it set is normal. The car must be in park for the doors to unlock. I wish you could just pull the handle as well, but I really don't lose sleep over it. BTW, GM's are the same way. They only unlock when put in park.

to answer your question: No.

P.S. the "almost every" car you talk about only applies to those made recently. Look back to a car 5 years ago and you'll notice that is a luxury not many had.

It's not that hard for a person to unlock their door before opening it, IMO.

no it's not hard, but interestingly enough, some people don't realize, or have forgotten that they can unlock the doors on their own without the driver hitting the switch for them. are they lazy or stupid... i dont know.

and to the OP, not i didn't misunderstand your question. you just didn't specify what you wanted.

It's common courtesy, and a safety check, to put your car in PARK while you're letting someone in or out of your vehicle. God forbid you readjust your position in the seat, reach for something behind, or get distracted and move your foot, or have it slip from the brake.
For the sake of your passengers, put it in park. It's not that difficult.

The wife refers to the auto lock as "date rape" locks. She already hates "Veronica" as she calls the navi voice.

Then, people unfamiliar with the car reach around to pull up a non-existent old school unlock pin on top of the door panel at the rear of the door, you know?

With the 6MT, there's obviously no park, so you defeat the auto lock or remember to unlock when you coast to a stop. Maybe if there were a function to unlock with the parking brake?

thanks for all the input, actually i had originally thought that i was letting people out without going into park, its more of a reaction then me thinking about it. but i changed my settings so in park all doors unlock which is what i needed. but i still think it would be nice if you could unlock the door without having to hit the unlock button or going into park. This would also help the people who do have manual tsx's
