Exclamation Intermittent non-response from gas pedal

2011 TSX wagon; 44K miles

I purchased the car 3 weeks ago. Have driven several hundred highway and in-city miles. Among the several issues I've reported to the dealer, the one that scares me is .......at times, the car will simply not respond to the gas pedal. I turned at an intersection yesterday and in the middle of the turn, the car heaved and coasted; I hit the gas pedal repeatedly; nothing...no revving, no nothing. 1-2-3 seconds go by and bing!...the car responds normally. This has happened at least a dozen times so far. Dealer (VW) says car is operating at factory specs.
Anyone ever hear of this type or problem? Curious.
Thanks in advance.
Drew

What iCrap said. Try disabling the traction control and see if it solves the issue.

Should still be under warranty, no? And why would a VW dealer be able to comment on factory specs for another marque?

What do you mean "responds normally"? Did it (finally) downshift and accelerated? What was your speed? I think I had something similar - it just happened to be on a too high gear and reluctant to downshift, trying to save gas. Next time this happens, step on it like you mean it.

What I mean by 'responding normally' is that normally, I when I normally press on the gas pedal, I expect the car to respond by increasing speed AND moving. In this case it is neither; the car appears 'dead'. Nothing. The car is coasting from leftover forward motion but stepping on the gas pedal 'like I mean it'..... does -absolutely nothing-. I can jump on the gas pedal with 2 feet and there is no response. After about 3 seconds, the gas pedal suddenly responds to my pressing on it and the car takes off.

Let me add: I am usually going under 15 miles per hour ...... I'll slow down to make a turn...like coming into my driveway or I'll slow down to time turning on an intersection....or I'm turning into a parking lot.... that kind of speed. I let my foot off the gas a bit, brake a bit and then come back to the gas pedal....and -nothing-.
Thanks

Have you checked to see if the car has thrown any codes?

You may want to take a look at the APP (accelerator position sensor). It has been known to be an occasional issue on the 3G TL and believe it is the same one on the 2G TSX.

So, always at low speed? Does it also happen when you're in S-mode? What about when you're in M-mode (shifting yourself)?

The reason I'm asking all these questions is one day my wife (not very tech savvy) described this problem in almost exact words. After prying more info about it and trying to explain what is happening I gave up at some point and told her to just shift to S-Mode when it heavy traffic. She never complained since.
I hope you're experiencing the same thing - transmission getting intermittently stuck in a too high gear in light engine load applications.
