its worth a try going to the dealer though.. that doesn't sound normal for OEM HID .. you sure nobody changed the bulb to a 3000k one?

if you didn't mess with anything hit up the dealer

if you didn't mess with anything, go to the dealer, if they give you "sorry its wear and tear", explain that you haven't pissed in the housing. bulbs do not go yellow when they fail, they just don't produce this thing we call light anymore

definitely not a wear and tear item. HID bulbs should last for quite a while..

My symptom was HID start with normal white light, then it turns to yellow, then it went out, but when you turn headlight back on, it start with normal white - yellow- then it went out again. I strong feel this is considered premature and defective item. It should went out right the way when you turn on the headlight if it comes to end of life.

I did call dealer before I make an appointment. Yes. they told me it is wear and tear item, they did not cover it. They said they charge $250 for the bulb and $60 for the labor. Of course, I am not buy it. I have an appointment with dealer on Sat. Will keep you guys posted.

That seems excessive for a bulb of any sort.

depends on the age. at some point the bulb will start to fail in that manner. if you have a low mileage car, i would fight this.

Every other manufacturer expressly covers HID's for the duration of the warranty (and other bulbs under the limited [for Acura 6 months])

Call Acura before you spend money at the dealer as it isn't defined in the warranty booklet found here

Any radical color change (yellow or purple) is usually an indication of an impending failure. HID bulbs (like any other bulb) will slowly change color with age, but if one bulb is visibly different from the other then it is getting to die.
