Have problems starting car

I woke up this morning and tried to start the car but the car seemed to struggle a little to crank over, when it did it didn’t quite seem like it cranked over to the right spot where cars normally crank over to. So I turned the car off and waited a min before trying to start again (my oil change light has been on for about a week) so I tried cranking it only this time I added pumping the gas pedal and it cranked immediately, but then car was kind of jerking while sitting there park like it wasn’t sure if it wanted start or shut off- and then the check engine light came on... idk what’s going on with it 😫 nice way to start of my 4th of July.

IMO: It's somewhat difficult to interpret, your description of the problem, "ie" ( "when it did it didn’t quite seem like it cranked over to the right spot where cars normally crank over to." ) It would be most helpful, if you could post a short video, showing exactly, what the issue is. Not sure, about your car, but routinely, it is not a good idea, to pump the gas pedal, in fuel injected cars. Pumping the gas pedal, MAY have introduced, too much fuel, into the system, causing the engine to misfire, resulting in the " jerking", and potentially, trigering the check engine light. Also, extremely hot weather, is very hard on batteries. You may want to take your car to the nearest auto parts store, and ask them to test the battery, starter, and alternator, for proper performance. Most large chain stores, will perform these type tests, at no charge.
