Talking Emergency brake cable adjust

I did a search for this and found nothing so i thought i would post this.

My 2012 TSX A spec ebrake had a lot of play and drove me nuts, so i started digging.

1. Open up your center console and remove the rubber mat at the bottom.
2. Take out the two screws and pry up with a small flat to pop out the power outets panel.
3. Disconnect the connectors
4. You will now see an adjuster nut , tighten it
5. celebrate success

just wondering if any of you guys experienced the e-brake handle being a bit loose between you first lifting the handle up and the first click.. my dash brake light lights up when i lift the handle slightly up even before the first click. Is this normal?

there is a sensor connected to the handle down underneath the center console.

tear into center console and see if that sensor needs adjustment.
it's a bolt with a nut on it, you adjust the length of the bolt to where it depresses.

kinda like a brake pedal switch

yeah i gotta check out the sensor, but is the handle suppose to be loose like that? i mean the brake works but I thought the handle was pretty stiff when I first bought the car

I opened the access hole in the center console. I am able to spin the nut but it just spins back to where it was. I know it’s on a cable and the nut might be stuck a little. Anyway to get this to turn?
