Dirty Air Filter

Opened up my air box today to take a look at the filter and noticed that it was really dirty. Anyone else's look like this?

Decided to order a K&N drop in after seeing this.

It's good you're replacing it.

I changed mine at around 40,000km. Do you drive in dusty or industrial area?

It's now at 50,000km and I have been using the CTE Icebox (with its own cone filter) for about a month or 2,000 km.

I replaced my filter this past weekend. I have 24000 miles on the odometer and mine looked similar. I usually check the filter every 6 months and replace when needed. I received an email the other day from KN saying that they have come out with their own CAI/SRI intake. +7HP but no figures for torque. It looks pretty cheap compared to the Takeda CAI/SRI. Of course, nothing compares to the CT-E intake

Was the CTE Icebox pretty easy to install? Did you see any change in gas mileage?

Good advice. I check mine twice a year also. Nice to hear KN is coming out with an inexpensive alternative.

hondu: CTE Icebox took me three hours to install, if you have already removed the resonator then you should be able to get it done in about an hour . See Derwood thread.
