Angry Dent in padding

When I drive I like to rest my left arm on the black upper padding/molding on the driver's side door. This is the padding/molding that the inner door handle is on. Putting my arm here gives me a comfortable position for me to steer the wheel with only my left hand because my elbow rests on the padding and I can pivot my arm and hand to manipulate the steering wheel.

Anyway yesterday I notice that there's like a 2 cm diameter dent in the padding were my left elbow usually rests!!!! It's not deep but you can definitely see it. And it will not come back to it's original shape!!!!

What kinda lame material is used for the padding? I may tell the dealer it's a factory defect and have him replace it. LOL.

That sucks!

I'll have keep an eye on my car's padding to make sure dents start to appear.

Why bother having it replaced if you're going to put your elbow there again and have it do the same thing?

Without it being completely hard plastic, other than super high quality memory foam, nothing is going to return back to original with continual use.

My Infiniti G35 did the same thing and that interior was slightly higher quality than the TSX.

I have the same problem, but like Derwood said, other than changing it to hard plastic the dent will reappear after a while.

Yeah...replacing the padding isn't going to solve this problem if I keep on putting my elbow there. LOL.

I guess I'll just make the best out of it and continue putting my elbow there. If fits nicely in the dent now. LOL.

Just thinking...when I had the 07 RDX I noticed when I put the rear seats down a fairly large impression was left on the back seat right below the headrest. Initially, I was pretty upset but noticed after several weeks the indentation left and the seat back looked normal again. Don't know if that would happen with the door or not. Guess it wouldn't matter if that's where you always place your arm.
