cluster gauge lighting

Hey guys. Just got a new 12 TSX and notice during the day (when the headlights are off) the guage cluster such as speedometer and stuff is lit. I had an 09 TSX and dont remember it doing this. Did anyone else notice this? I have the SE and it has the red cluster vs the white on the regular TSX so maybe its just more noticeable. It seems brighter as the daytime running light little blue icon appears brighter.

It is lit during the daytime. If you adjust the brightness when the headlights are on, you'll find that the max-clockwise position actually specifies "daylight" or something similar to that, suggesting that there is a daylight setting when the headlights are off.

It would actually be pretty hard to see the gauges if they weren't lit. The only bad thing about it is at night when people see the gauge and think that their headlights are on, even though they're not.

thanks for the info. I could definitely see how someone could think the headlights are on when they were not.
