brake calipers turning white...

Quite annoying but I guess it's the price I have to pay for having 5 spoke rims... it just stinks because the car is a day under a month old and I've only washed the car twice...

My guess is it's from the car wash spraying the chemicals to remove brake dust.... Anyone else having this issue?

wasnt it a stone color to begin with?
like a grey?

my advice is to spray paint the caliper with a high heat black paint.

Or silver, to keep the oem look.

It's starting to build up a white powder coat.. that's the driver side front.. it's the worst of the four... here is a picture from rear passenger if I recall correctly.. this is how it looked more or less when I first got the car:

almost looks like calcium!

spray painting them black, or even silver would take care of your problems!!

Spraying wheel cleaner/degreaser on them will do that.

That's correct, that's why many people steer well clear of generic wheel cleaner, even for OEM rims and brakes. Mine are still OEM silver after a year and 12,000 miles. Paint them and stop using that stuff.

I won't use wheel cleaner since it seems more caustic.

Car wash soap and water work just fine. Just be sure to use a different sponge than you use on the body.
