Clicking When Turning the Steering Wheel

TSX 2009 electric power steering

Hello Everyone,

My steering makes a light click sound when I turn the steering to the right. I did some research and found out the steering column might need to be replaced (there is a TSB on it too)

So the dealership is charging close to $1500 as I am out of warranty.

My question is should I get it fixed or can i just eave it as it’s not a loud click it’s very minor (the sound is more noticeable during winters)

Any suggestions?

Thank you

I too have this problem but only intermittently and it too gets worse when cold.

The Service Bulletin that applied to my vehicle was 12-037. "A clicking noise comes from the upper steering column when turning the steering wheel." The bulletin says the replace the steering angle sensor assembly. The dealer told me it wouldn't make any functional difference to replace the part so I didn't bother.

Perhaps your problem is similar?

Yes the problem is the same, thank you for writing back to me.

I have seen / herd about people who replace it and the problem comes back again after a couple of months.

Didn't want to shell out $1500 for that

Thank you :-)
