2014 TSX VTC rattle

I leased a brand new TSX and after 150 miles the VTC actuator started busting balls. Can you believe that!? That has got to be a record. Anyway I brought the car back to Paragon Acura where they told me they could not replicate the noise and the TSB is for earlier TSXs. I plan on bringing it to a different dealer to have the oil changed and I'm going to mention the noise. I looked at the TSB and it looks like they are replacing the defective part with the same part. Makes alot of sense right? This looks to be a problem with not only Honda/Acura but with Chevy, Bmw, Toyota....Could this be normal on cold days? Is it necessary to pull apart a brand new engine and replace a part with the same part that originally only lasted 150 miles? I read a few places that mentioned engine failure and that scares me. Options, Opinions?

my 2010 had exactly the same problem. It's a common thing. I would have thought they'd fix it by the 2014 model but i guess not...

What makes you think it's common? I've only read a couple of reports of it being a problem (here), and we're a razor thin sliver of those that drive a Honda or an Acura, so . . . common?

I bought my car at paragon in queens, and there have been many questionable things happening since. Their diagnostic skills are abysmal. Go the distance to westchester, talk to chris colucci, tell him I sent you, ill tell you my name in a PM if you decide to go.

The dealers want things to break first before they do anything. Just noise, good luck. Mine had a TSB done because it sound like marbles spinning in a metal can when under heavy acceleration.

It still make the same noise but they don't hear it any more. Its operation to spec. My ass but it works. so they do nothing.
its all games, it needs to break before they look at anything.

At the 0:05 mark you hear a brrrrr vibrating type of sound, that's it.

My '09 does this as well unfortunately and it happens more frequently in cold and/or damp weather.

Could be, but I've been reading posts here since long before the 2nd gen showed up, and this is I think the first time I can remember reading about it. Guess I wasn't paying attention.

Weird this thread showed up, the first time I have ever heard this noise on my 2010 (with 31K miles) was 3 days ago... Its been very cold out. But it has never done it before.... And so far has not done it since..... Meh...if it gets consistent I'll take it to the dealer. Guess its very common from searching Google.
