Click noise of Electric Power Steering

Just got my 2012 TSX 4-cylinder this January. Recently I start to hear little click noise when turning my steering wheel. It's kind of one click noise for about half a circle turning. Is anyone familiar with such kind of problems?

Thanks, I'll bring it to dealer tomorrow anyway. I just hope it's not a serious problem and the click noise won't get louder.

It is a bad bearing in your steering column. There is a TSB on it and your dealer should take care of it.

It is a minor noise that doesn't affect the operation of the car. My '09 335 left me stranded on the side of the road the first time at 2000 miles because of a failed fuel pump - a problem that BMW knew about since 2007 but failed to adequately address. That's a problem a car shouldn't have.

if its a failed part then I wouldn't be too concerned. Parts fail from time to time. It happens. Warranty should take care of it. However, if its a design issue, then we have a bigger issue.

You're right. But this is just one of the many issues for me. I've bought my car into the dealership more times than months I've owned the car. Could be my paranoia and OCD, but I feel like they are legitimate issues. Now I'm bringing in my car again for the steering and also the vehicle slight shuddering/vibrating when putting it into gear. Only happens intermittently though.

I didn't see any TSBs for the click noise or steering wheel bearing. Most TSBs are for the ELS system and Navs

edit: Nevermind, I found it

I too found this in my 2012 and had it into the dealer. This is what I posted on the following thread:

Turning Steering Wheel Makes Clicking Noise

Just a follow-up: I was told that the techs drove 3 other TSX on their lot and all exhibited this same "click." As I mentioned, the loaner I have with 1500mi on it also has the noise.

The service advisor says that when Acura changed from "power steering" to "electric power steering," this became a characteristic of the vehicle.
---

Since that post I have driven two additional 2012 TSX and they also have the same exact noise. If you take the three that the dealer drove, plus my car, the loaner I had and my buddy's cars, that makes 7 that exhibit the same noise.

because it's so common and only a small annoyance i've decided against attempting to get it repaired.. not to mention others who've tried ended up with the same issue just a short period later.

i'd rather not have anything repaired or replaced if not necessary.
