Canadian contact for knocking problem.

This is the response I got to the email I sent regarding the knocking problem.

Thank you for your recent contact to the Acura Client Services office. Unfortunately, our office only has the ability to facilitate
matters with Acura products from the United States. However, we have
contacted Acura of Canada on your behalf to share your concern. At your
convenience please contact Acura of Canada through their toll free line,
1-888-922-8729. Daniel at extension 6838 will assist you in addressing
your concerns.

Don't be shy. Give them a call and let's get this resolved.

Yes I will contact them this week and let everyone know what they say. Stay tuned. Any help would be appreciated but I'm not sure if it will help. What is your position at Acura?

keep updating.
I went to dealership two weeks ago to fix brake and engine pinging problem,
the problems are all fxxking disappear after the car is in dealership.
After I pick up car for 10 mins the problem starts again.
Mech told me so much stuffs like the brake is made by bah bah bah, engine pinging is normal...etc,
I dont believe those things, I will bring the print copy of thread next time to dealer.

I just have a couple of people that we work with @ Burrard Acura. I don`t know if they would be able to help you any better. I can't believe that you have to take you car ot Honda for warranty. You will always have to make two trips becuase they will not stock anything for you car.

My engine knocking has gotten pretty bad.. I'm due for my first oil change in which i called and explained the issue, they said they've never heard of it but would be glad to look at it.. But I'm sure it wont knock when I'm there.. Damnit.

So has this been resolved in the States?
Is the knocking just a noise inconvinence or is it bad for the engine?

Any Canadians with any updates? This pinging has gotten really bad and when I spoke to my dealer on the phone they said they haven't heard of this issue before but to bring it in anyways.

Except its on and off and I'm sure it'll be more "off" than on when I'm there.

The info we Canadians need to have this taken care of is in post #1 so give the guy a call and tell him about your problem.

I got e reply of 'I'll look into it and get back to you within 24-48 hours'. Doesn't sound very promissing.

Pick up the phone and make the call. If your not going to be part of the solution, don't be a part of the problem by sitting here and using bandwith to complain.

Very nice find. Thanks for that info. I called the Honda dealership, Acura closed in Victoria, and my car is going in tomorrow to have the update and knock sensor replaced.

So now the question is, if our engines have been knocking all this time what is Honda/Acura prepared to do about compensating for premature engine wear?

I called to confirm my appointment with Honda today to find that the knock sensore are on back order until the end of October.

Guess this TSB must have drained the parts bin...
