Bluetooth Problems?

I picked up my '09 on Saturday and loved every second of my 3 hour drive home! I am having an issue the bluetooth cell-phone integration, though...I will try to explain it the best that I can....

I can receive calls just fine, but making calls is a problem. After saying "call home" for example, the voice says "now calling home"...i then hear a few beeps (not a ring), and the music comes back on. Whoever I am trying to reach, however, then gets my call but hears nothing when they answer.

Is anyone having this problem as well? It could be my phone, I guess...its a simple samsung flip phone...don't know the model off hand.

Have you checked the compatibility list to see if your phone is listed there? Apparently there are some phones of all brands that don't work.

I don't have that problem but the problem I have is my phone won't always link up. I have a Palm Treo 700wx w/Sprint and I'm not sure if it is the phone or what. I emailed the Acura handsfreelink and they got back to me right away and told me to call them from another cell phone while I'm in the car, I just haven't had a chance to do that as of yet.

i have a new LG Chocolate from Verizon, and have had no issues. I do think it's a little annoying the steps you have to go through to make a call, i.e. <button> "Call" <"What name or number would you like to call?"> <button> "555-555-5555" <"555-555-5555. Say Call..."> <button> "Call" <"Calling...">

It takes 30 seconds to make a phone call

You can shorten this by one step, <button> "call 555-555-5555" <"555-555-5555. Say Call dial or continue to add numbers"> <button> "Call" <"Calling...">

Catman - Palms are all problematic. Make sure you don't have other paired devices and make sure that your dial up networking is off.

The manual is also quite correct when it says any air "swirling" around the speaker makes you inaudible to the callee....they'll only be able to hear a whooshing sound.

So turn off the fan and/or point those center vents away from the speaker.

I think the handsfree link works BETTER than the voice dial on my Moto W490....it can rarely understand me.

Actually you need to point the vents away from the microphone, not the speakers.....

Anyone have any luck with Acura link? My BlackBerry 8800 is supported, but when I try to test the connection, it hangs 1/3 of the way. I do get "Modem mode" displayed on my BB, so I know it's accessing...

Other question - when you initiate a call using the phone and not the HFL, is there any way to transfer the call to the HFL so you can use the car's speakers/mic, other than going to the options of the call and selecting "Send to Bluetooth"?

If I am talking on the phone and then start the car, it shuts my phone down completely - full lockup for about 2 minutes. I have a Verizon blackberry pearl

I once had my Palm 700p go to almost near dead battery causing the Bluetooth to disable on my phone to conserve battery. I charged my phone that night and in the morning i turned bluetooth back on. When i went in my car my phone had to be re-synced and paried to the car all over again.

I also have not been ableto get AcuraLink to work - I have a Verizon 8800, and it hangs at the 1/3rd mark. In addition, my RAZR V9m doesn't automatically reconnect to the BT upon restart of the vehicle. I have to shut off the BT, and reconnect a few times. My wife's Samsung Alias reconnects as soon as the car starts back up.

In terms of transferring the call from the cell phone to the HFL, I know of no other way that selecting "Send to Audio".. I think it should be automatic...

All you have to do is hit the bluetooth button and say transfer and you will transfer your call to the HFL and it works in reverse as well by saying "transfer" an you can send the call from HFL to phone.....I'm not picking on you Samwlee, but all of this is in the users guide......I see a ton of questions on here wanting to know how to do something and the answer is in the guide.....come on guys you can read??? right??????
