2012 TSX Sportwagon Unintended Acceleration While Stopeed

My wife's 2012 TSX Sportwagon has been suddenly going to very high RPM's while stopped at a light. It's happened three times within the last three days, all while running errands in town driving. It has scared the bejeebers out of her and now she's afraid to drive it. I've checked the pedal for obstructions, and her shoe size is petite so, no, it's not a case of wide foot catching brake and accelerator. No check engine light accompanied the event and naturally I've taken it out and can't replicate the predicament. Any sage advice on why this is happening and more importantly how I can fix it? Many thanks.

First of all, glad everything is ok so far but WTF.
if you search here you will see just a few reports of something like this. its very rare.
document everything as much you can,
maybe a dashcam positioned to video the gauges and such.
report to NHTSA on their site. I think you can search to see if similar reported to the government.
she is at a light, the car is in Gear or is a MT in neutral?
also the dealer. Call Acura Care and ask them what you should do.
Maybe there are codes stored that can help them figure it out.

Good luck.

I recommend you drive it for a bit to see if you can replicate the issue. In addition, does your wife use both feet to drive?
