2010 TSX windshield defective?
I've had my 2010 TSX V6 TECH for about a month and about two weeks ago I noticed that in certain lighting conditions that the windshield seems to be defective. At night, under streetlights, or when the sun is low, your can see a distinctive frosting or haze in the windshield. You can only see it if you look up, not if you look straight out the window. I can only describe it as very small dots uniformly distributed in the glass. It can't be something done at the dealership since the "dots" are uniform and don't seem to be on the inside or outside surface. They seem to be inside the glass. I mentioned this to the service manager and he said others have complained about a similar frosting or haze in the glass. He said either it's by design (part of the tinting) or all cars show it. I did notice a similar frosting in a 09 and 10 loaner, though not as bad. Our 07 TL doesn't show anything like this. At times, it is very distracting and I actually have trouble seeing out the window. Btw, I tried cleaning the window with a auto glass cleaner and dawn and the problem is not on the surface, it is inside the glass. Anybody else notice something strange in their windshields?

Defective Windshield on 08 TL?
My 2008 TL (under 15k miles) is garaged at home and under cover at work. Last week on a sunny day (not many in Seattle)...I noticed thousands of tiny
specks which catch the sun and make seeing through it very difficult when
oriented toward the sun. I am sure these are not freeway rock chips...since I rarely drive the freeway and have never seen a windshield with this many micro chips. It is like nothing I have ever seen. Could this be a defect in the
layers between the glass? It is like tiny reflective crystals. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what did ACURA do for you?![Why Me](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/whyme.gif)
I will take it to the dealer next week after the holiday.

I got my tsx on saturday, and i noticed it the next day. it gets extremely worse with rain. I tried a ton of products to get it off, but nothing worked. I had to go to an intense car wash
and it was essentially beaten off the windshield (its on the exterior)
I recommend any high power wash to get it off. Sadly, you'll notice this haze on other parts of the car if it's a black car.

captainjonny, you are describing the exact same problem I have with my 2010 TSX. I mentioned it to the service manager and he said others have compained about it. If you look very closely, the "crystals" are uniformly distributed throughout the windshield. I'm guessing it is some kind of uv or anti-reflective protection since I noticed that glare at night is much reduced, but during sunrise or sunset, it is a major problem. It is very distracting. I find that if I look slightly up at certain times I can barely see out the windshield. I think Acura really ****** up here. Our 07 TL-S windshield is perfectly clear. Just one more reason to hate my car.

I'm glad you mentioned this, in the late afternoon sun, my windshield looks like it has about 10 years worth of rock chips. I was wondering how in the world that could have happened in less than 6 months. I haven't really studied it to see that the specks are uniform across the glass, but I too have been unable to remove with cleaners, so it probably came this way. Even in the loaner cars I've had recently, I have noticed that it seems like I can never get the windshield clean in the afternoon sun...there is always a haze of specks that don't go away.

I picked up my tsx yesterday and I did notice the small circle in the back windshield window. I ask the dealer about it and she said its part of the "design". WTF. what design? She said all the cars have it in the lot.

Be aware that some of the issue could be the coating on the cars for transport. If the dealer does not remove all of it you would have a hazy appearance.
Mine took some serious scrubbing with a window scrubber to get more of it off, I still have some.

I know this might be hard to see, but you got any pics?

Picked up my new TSX last night and I don't see any flaws so far...
