So when I switch the gear from D to R, I experienced the steering wheel locked out and light inside the car flashing. And one time when I switch from P to R, the car shut off but the light is still on. yesterday, I also had the emission system check light came one. I tested the coil pack and they seem fine. So my next thought is the alternator is bad? Can anyone give me a suggestion on how to test that and where to get a new one? Pepboys, AutoZone? Thanks

 

Bring it to autozone and test they can test your alternator. If need replacing check out rockauto.com
