2009 Front Bumper Removal -- Help

Hi, a rock punched a hole in my passenger side fog lamp on my 2009 and I guess I need to remove the bumper skin to put in a replacement. Any help, instructions, advice, "how to" videos that can help me complete the job will be greatly appreciated. Any recommendations on protective covers that may be on the market that I could install to protect them from now on. Thanks

If you do a search on Google for the instructions on how to install the Aero bumper for the '09 and '10, those instructions tell you step by step how to remove the bumper. Basically, you remove 2 screws (one in each wheel well), a bunch of clips underneath, and then pull hard, going from the outside in.

The hardest part is overcoming the fear that you'll break something when you're pulling.

the hardest part for me are the clips around the headlights area, which i THINK i found a way to encounter it. once you pull the side clips out, when it gets to the headlight, one hand pull outward from the headlight clips part, another hand on the bottom of the bumper pulling the whole bumper slightly upward

there is also a video on youtube showing how to remove it from a 1st gen tsx, which is pretty similar to the 2nd gen

Huh.

After reading all of your posts I'm wondering if I'm the only one who removes the upper fender trim and front bumper & its absorber in order to replace the headlight assembly

It's not too difficult to remove, just remove the clips shown here:

**Fender trim clips**

..then remove the front bumper:

..and then remove the front bumper absorber:

**Shown here: Front Bumper Absorber**

Finally, remove the four bolts, and pull the headlight out slightly. Remove the harness clip from the headlight housing, and disconnect the connectors from the bulb sockets. At last, remove the headlight with the corner upper beam.

**Headlight Assembly**

I was always under the impression that this is the typical procedure. If there's a simpler way to do it then I'm all for it though

tech, he broke his FOG lights, not HEADlights. though yes, that is the general acceptable idea for removing the headlights =P
