TerdBath's mod thread

I loved the 05 RL when it worked. Problem is it never worked. Jumped at the chance to trade it in for 10 TSX.

One week after ownership I bought the takeda intake.

Can't recall when maybe a month or two switched it to CAI

Next mod was the chrome strips near the fog lights.

Here is my DIY on spring install. I am the artist formally known as Gabe15

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ghlight=gabe15

Then wheels. Bronze at first.

Then Silver

My last real mod was April 2011 when I got the throwdown down pipe.

Here is a small sound clip of the Intake and downpipe.

Since my last mod was almost a year ago I could barely wait to do something else to it so I purchased the c-mod grill and bought new paint for the wheels. Going with Smoke Metallic which is a Honda color. Undecided on what color to paint the grill frame. Paint match palladium, go with something darker or try to mimic the stock silver look. I think I need to see it on my car before I can decide what color is best.

Things I will not be doing. No offense to those that have.
Tiniting the tails
Tinting the windows
Adding LED's
turbo or Super charger
Catback exhaust
Adding ground effects

Gotta be honest. I did not feel much of a difference between stock intake and Takeda intake. Takeda claimed 14 horsepower but I couldnt tell. Now with the downpipe I could feel it pull harder.

Dropped on Tein sport tech springs and 18 by 8 MB Battles +30 offset and 245 40 18's

Changed the sound clip to a you tube vid.

Glad to see this thread. Looking forward to seeing the grille. Also, thanks for the spring install thread. It helped me when I took off the springs on my '09, and by extension when I put them back on the '11.

Why not? It makes a big difference with keeping the heat out, and looks better(as long as its not purple or something weird).

I'm with the OP in not tinting the windows. IMHO tint-less looks better.

window tint is a personal opinion. for some it looks better, for others, its just asking for unnecessary attention from people like cops. not quite sure why you don't want to do LED's, but its your baby, you do what you like and can afford, simple as that

I think tint looks great but I dont do it anymore because.....

1. I dont like the reduced visiblity during night time driving. I like to know the make and model behind me at all times.
2. During the winter I try to always park facing the sun to keep the cabin warm.

Metallic smoke k11. I was wrong in a previous post. It's actually a Nissan color.

im not trying to pressure you to do it, but have you considered just doing like 50% tint? it would provide a nice smokey look without hindering visibility at all, and i doubt a cop would ever both you for it. just putting it out there. i completely respect your choice to keep it fish bowl =)

also bronze > black. i think the black makes it look off balance, like top heavy or something. for black wheels on a silver car, i believe you'd need black accents, like tint(sorry just sayin hahaha) and a gloss black roof. maybe even roof and trunk lip spoilers in black would help

PyroDave! You put into words what I think I was trying to say. Yea black wheels look ok and I thought just more mods would improve the look. But now that you mention it I guess its not necessarily more mods, but just some window tint! Even that I think would give a more cohesive look.

i dont want to pressure him into window tint as that is not only a personal choice, like all mods, but it also puts you up to the harrassment of cops and possible tickets. but i think silver is very similar to white, because its a light color, if you add any black, it must be balanced. like on yours

4 months since my last post here. Had the C-Mod grill for a few weeks. I wasnt able to get it to fit perfect where the grill meets the hood so I took it off and put the shield back. I plasti dipped the grill and outlined an area in the back to give it a diffuser look. Removed the rear right away because it looked fake as hell and peeled the grill a week later. Never took a pic of either. Repainted my wheels again. This time medium smoke. I really like some of the recent fitments Ive seen people do here with 19's and 20's but new wheels are not in my budget anytime soon. Just put on a factory rear prepainted lip spoiler and have some 3 mm hubcentric spacers on the way to push the rears out a bit.

The new color looks great. I personally think 18s are perfect, and to me, 19s are okay depending on fitment and weight. I'm a stickler for wheel weight and if I'm spending the money on rims, would want them to be lighter than stock. Definitely no 20s on this car for me. I know, I'm in the minority here.

3 mm hubcentric spacers. http://www.ebay.com/itm/280904464569...84.m1439.l2649

It was hard to capture the change in appearance with before and after pictures so none as of now. In the 2-3 weeks ive had them Ive not noticed any vibrations or rubbing in the back. Again im running 245 40 18's on a 18 X 8 rim with a 30 offset. I did test fit the wheel with both spacers sandwiched together. It looked liked it would rub but I didnt test drive it because I only got a couple turns on the lugs before they were tight.
