Opinions on tinted tails

So I'm kinda getting bored of my tinted tails so I wanted some opinions on what I should do.
1) Leave it the way I have it

2) Reverse Cut outs (only picture I could find)

3) Defcon Style

yall can disagree and tint all you want, but in my opinion, tinted tails are fucking ghetto, and tacky, and would look great only with a set of 20" dubs and 5% tint all around

also, for anyone who gets rear ended and ends up in 100% liability due to tinted tails = massive lol

i really cant say i like the look or think its a good idea, lightly smoking your tails is iffy even by my standards

but hey, you wanted an opinion right?

I know in Florida there is no law about tinting, just a standard visibility distance that has to be met during the day and at night. Thanks for the input G!

BTWWW... I know you said you tried to do BMW style but it looked offcolor when you tried it. Did you think about putting down some red electrical tape down first then the red vinyl overtop?

haha @KID ok ok, the tint isn't for everyone. No one likes the reverse cut outs? Looks like most people like what Defcon did. If I were to embark on this project, I would probably try and make it BMW style. Thanks for all the input guys.

if you are ultra ambitious joe (id do this if i had more free time)

how about buying a used set of taillights on ebay (or one for like 30), and try experimenting with your own custom LED tails? You COULD potentially make some sick ass stuff

Killer, what kind of LED project do you have in mind? I don't see ,much we can do as far as tail lights.

Kowloon, I remember you saying you might do that, did you post any pictures? Probably over Christmas break when I get some time I might do the red overlays and experiment.

i did do the little bmw reverse lights but it turned out pink because of the chrome reflectors

i also had the idea of still doing the little bmw reverse lights by using transparent frost(the privacy tint used in bathrooms) as the white part. that way you dont see the pink in the chrome reflectors

So it looks pink because the sun shines through the overlay reflects off the chrome and we see pink. But if you block out all light that is coming through using tape first then overlays I would think there would be no more pink. Does that make sense what I'm saying? If not I could draw it out lol

1) Where is the cheapest place to get the red vinyl? Assuming it only comes in sheets and isn't fitted correct?
2) When you did your lights did you only cover the white part of the turn signal? Or did you wrap the whole light up to the trunk edge?
3) Red electrical tape should do the job, no black. Just lay down like 3-4 strips at the top of the square, 3-4 at the bottom and then we will have a nice 1/2 X 3in clear space for the reverse. Then just overlay 2 pieces of red vinyl.BOOM goes the DYNAMITE!
4) Did you ever post a video of what the turn signal looks like blinking with the red overlays? Cause I'm wondering if red signals would be better than yellow. Idk, just a thought.

LED tails as in like cutting open the piece, putting in your own board and a circular LED ring, ill talk more about it if anyone is srsly interested. But using a diffuser maybe you could get creative even...

For anyone with the requisite electrical knowledge, it should be a cakewalk, i wish it was one of my strengths, because i seriously think a better looking set of rear tails would make the rear of the TSX look 10x hotter than any tints could, especially at night.

If i did this like i said i'd start with a used tail light piece from ebay since this will require some cutting

Someone was kind enough to write a lot of info for me in another thread, but because of my schoolwork I would'nt be able to even dream of touching on this project till the summer

It was what CU2Mikes friend said he was gonna do, but he apparently got busy too and vendor'ed out on us

Just looking at Stickercity.com and they are having a sale on some of this clear CF vinyl. It looks cool! Not exactly sure what we could use this on but I'm sure Defcon can find a use for it. Might look cool overlayed on your bug deflector.
