police report came out, they were not able to determined who was at fault. the spanish guy said the light was green(obviously), i said he ran a red, and the girl behind me said the light was yellow. so now the police has to review the camera + tape. Once that tape is available, my lawyer is going to get a copy.
Oh, and the spanish guy was driving WITHOUT a license, WITHOUT insurance, plus it was somebody else's car.

Then I don't understand, regardless of the story he shouldn't have been on the road and is responsible for any damages that occur due to his lack of training and illegitimate driving, as well as claiming the light was green, gives no cause for him to be speeding and hitting you hard enough to cause so much damage to TWO vehicles. If he had the proper training and taken the proper safety courses required by the state to operate a motor vehicle he would have been aware of his surroundings and applied the brakes in a timely manner to avoid the collision.

The woman behind you says the light was yellow so she does not get a ticket for running the red light because both of you shouldn't have been in the intersection.

It didn't really matter for her what the light is because according to the police report, her car was "stationary". So he basically hit her when she was stopped, therefore i was the only one making the left turn. I dont know how it is in other States, but i entered the intersection when the light was GREEN, so of course when it turned RED i had to make that left turn, or else everyone would throw a fit lol. Just how Californians work i guess.

Well, one person says it was green, 1 person said it was yellow, and 1 person said red, so thats that lol. Just gotta wait for the video tape now.

meh, the being in the intersection and finishing your turn thing applies in all states, but he still had no reason to be on the road.. so I don't see how this has made it this far. He's in complete wrong from start to finish so regardless of if he's at fault or not technically he's at fault for being on the road with out proper training.. or insurance..

Thanks for sharing during this inconvenient time... what are you driving as a replacement?

It's interesting to see our car in raw form. Hope they get it back good as new ASAP.

I'm driving a mazda tribute for the time being, and yeah it is pretty strange seeing the car in its raw form.
I'm just glad the shop is doing a really good job (the owner is a good friend of mine, that probably has something to do with it lol)

It's a shop in Long Beach called S&W Garage.

Actually, my car suffered "structural damage", quite different than frame damage. Damage on my car was on the inner and out rear quarter panel, and it was pushed to the left 1 inch, so it's actually not that bad.

I decided that I'm pretty satisfied with the way the car is right now (pretty rattle-free and the base model system is not half bad)

Well, they cut out the inner and outer quarter panel, then welded a new one in its place. Cost to repair was $7,100 dollars, no frame damage here.
