woww so I had no knowledge whatsoever about load rating on the tires. called discount tire and tried to order a new tire (225/35/19) and they said the load rating doesn't support the car (Hankook V12, btw). they won't sell it to me or install it. buttttt they said they would for a 235/35/19... which means i can't buy 1 tire to replace the ripped one, but two, replacing both ripped and great-conditioned tire. well fvck.

yeah i guess so... the guys that did my alignment told me my ideal pressure was 40 or something... but i also didn't know about max tire pressure being 50. but anyway, im just gonna go with 235s.............................. boo

Believe it or not, but I have a gash like that in the right rear tire on my tsx....and I'm still on stock wheels! Idk how it happened, but I've put about 15k on the tires since I spotted it (had about 6-7k on the odo when I saw it), no problems so far. I didn't wanna spend $200+ to replace the tire, when it was essentially brand new..

^Sounds dangerous as fck. I wouldn't risk it considering that your tires are the only things making contact with the road, and keeping you on it.
And I believe our PSI is supposed to be at about 32-33, not 40. Lol. There should be a sticker on the drivers side when you open the door that has the suggested tire PSI on it.

plus i had camber on the rears, so they tried to make up the contact with the road through tire pressure instead of fishing out dough on camber kits and install.
