Kait's Build Thread

Why not? Figured I should start this. In case I give into the mod bug.

Anyway, just picked up my 09 6-speed Tech Saturday. In love with it <3

Getting it tinted on Saturday as long as the snow holds up. Then, HIDs in the fogs.

I'm fighting with myself over lowering it. I really want to feel like I'm in a luxury car, and I'm afraid losing that will destroy that feeling. Not to mention I may be carting my parents around, and my father especially complains every time I do something to my car (even though it's mine). Don't want to lose ride quality. ::Sigh::. Decisions decisions.

And, my friend just did a quick chop of the rims that I had on my Accord (car before this one). I like it, but not sure if it's the look I'm going for. Thoughts?

And, that's all for now =)

Welcome and congrats! Excellent choice on the color

The chop looks pretty good but I can't tell what kind of wheels they are. What are the specs?

They are Vossens. I have them sitting in my garage. Don't really want to sell them if they will work out.

Problem may be the fitment. They are 20x9 in the front and 20x10.5 in the rear. I can't help but think that 20s are too big for a TSX. But again, I'm so new to this model so I have a lot of reading to do.

I guess 19s are perfect. But damn tires are so expensive. And it looks like 18s look good but only when slammed, and I'm definitely not trying to slam.

Again, decisions decisions!

Test fit them and see what happens

BUT if you decide to do 20s, please don't stay on stock suspension. 4x4 status ftl.

Nono, if I put them on I am lowering first and then trying. I know the rule. Lower then wheels. I don't get why some people try to do it the other way around. Smh.

welcome! i believe you are one of the few female tsx-er that actually likes to mod their cars

do you know the offset to your wheels? even though they are 20, they have a lip and i think it wont be too big. if its full face then its another story

we have members fitting 19x9 and 19x9.5 in the front with no problem and 19x10 in the rear. just need to know if your offset is too low, and also tires play an important rule

They are:

F: 20x9 +38
R: 20x10.5 +45

I put 245/35/20 on the front and 285/30/20 in the rear. The rear tire is humungo. I don't want to stretch though. Jersey roads are not nice to me.

ummmm 285s in the rear is gonna rub like muthachuka! I am running 275/35 on 19x9.5 +42 and had to do a lot of careful fender rolling and a bit of pull on the rear to make it work. Having said that, if you can get the hub surface on your rims machined down to +55mm, you will have the fattest rear hands down

LMAO!

And yeah, I'm not 100% on the wheels. I really don't think that they are going to fit...at all. When it gets warm I will definitely try it out though. Assuming I decide to drop it.

Good eye bro +1 on the pinkish tails. Those gotta be '11-'12.
And YES! make them do the 3rd brake light. Idk if you can find a tinter local who has the tool that slides behind it. But down here im SOL. So im essentially tinting my car twice, and all im doing is the rear window

In regards to the "Blue" ...... Me and Kait know what color is best

Haha I am getting it done in my tint shop in PA. Third brake light is definitely getting done, as well as the vinyl over the dot matrix. My accord had 20% with black interior, but I want the cleaner look so I am thinking lighter. Then again, I have the beige interior so I'm kind of torn. My tint shop actually has 30%, so I'm going to see what that looks like. It's Llumar tint. Good stuff.

Regarding the second picture, that's not my car. Found that image on google, I just needed a car shot at the angle in order to do the chop with the wheels =)

Kait's no beginner I'll tell you guys that. Followed her car and Vixen's over at and my8thgen. Those girls know what's up. on the build thread. You can resist but you know you'll be modding.

Didn't know you had Vossens on the accord...last I saw I think you had a different brand...might be mistaken. There's gonna be lots of around this thread...

HAHA! My parents live there, but I don't live with them. I'm usually up there once a month though. I remember like 10 years ago we used to have verizon and would have to put our cellphones in a metal christmas tree candle holder..only way we would get reception

Haha nope, I always had the Vossens. Had them for going on three years now. Had only one issue, which was my fault technically, and they sent me a new one free of charge. I will keep boasting about that manufacturer. If I can help it, I'll never buy rims from someone else...

And thanks for the compliments! I really want to mod it, but I have to do it right. So, it'll take some time. I gotta work on paying the car down a little first, and then you'll see me get started =)

My mistake then...haha

you know...i'm always gonna remember you as the bbp accord coupe girl...till i see more mods and pics of your car at least. i thought you would've stuck with blue.

i highly suggest LEDing your interior/trunk/license plate...one of the cheaper things you can do that makes your car stand out. of course i had to drive around girls who don't notice these things.

oh and for tints...on a white car, 20% will be very noticeable...i had 35 on my gray tsx and it was fine. if i could go back, i'd do 20...i think 35 or so is a good % on a white car. the place i go to has 35...it's 120 and they do the third brake light. i suggested it to pyro and killerg.
