Used vs. aftermarket parts

Used vs. aftermarket parts
I wanted to see what everybody's thoughts were on used parts vs. aftermarket parts? I was in the market for a lip spoiler and noticed the OEM were over $400 new which was crazy. I was about to pull the trigger on an aftermarket spoiler I found on Ebay that I found for $80, when I thought to check my favorite resource for used car parts, car-part.com. They had a number of spoilers for our car listed and the one I purchased was $85. As it turns out, the one I purchased was brand new actually and was the OEM piece. Although it's gray, its not my shade so I planned of having it painted anyway. Have you all thought about using used parts instead of OEM on things like this?

I'm an OEM person and wouldn't go aftermarket unless I have to. That goes for used parts as well. Unless you want to be all gap nation like Ed But I guess it all depends on what you're buying.
Not too long ago I needed a new rack and pinion for my Odyssey and bought a used rack from a salvage yard instead of a re manufactured one that was of equal cost.
