It matches up with the factory cat. it's quite nicely done.
SO, I got the dyno done today. It was 101 degrees here today, and very humid. So... here it is, (will upload pictures if anyone wants to help with that, email me... ) with the intake and just pipe on, the power was 171/160 tq. The baseline was 170/15X tq. Now, some may complain that it's not enough, but keep in mind, when I originally dynoed the car it was like 85F, so it's quite a bit warmer, and more humid today.
Now for the good. With a conservative tune, for 93 octane gas, the car put down a killer 193.72 hp/160.87 tq with. Be mindful, this was with 101 degree temperatures, no air movement at all, and the car on the dyno for like 2 hours. Throttle response is way way faster, and my daugher loves the sound the motor makes now.
Pulls strong, cannot wait for the custom turbo kit...

Correct, I have the factory cat in place.
Any other questions I can answer?
I am thinking turbo again. Look into picking up the rbc and zdx tb in preparation for the oncoming changes. May get that tuned... maybe do it all at once... who knows, going to talk with Charles in a few weeks and see what he wants to do to take this to the FI level. But if we do turbo we are thinking the borg warner EFR turbo setup, where the wastegate and BOV and built onto the turbo itself, they are pretty sweet and would make the install look awesome.
The powered picked up in midrange and top end is really noticeable, and helps the gears go by quite a bit quicker. The throttle response is almost too responsive. Feels like I'm learning to drive a new type of car, when I went from my 98 to this, there was a learning curve, now it's all over again. In a few days it'll be normal.
But, if you take 193.72 and divide that by .9 you get this: 215.44, that's if you believe in the 10% drivetrain loss. If you believe in the 15% drivetrain loss the number at the crank is: 227.90. So power at the crank is between those two, depending on which camp you believe in for drivetrain loss. (formula: whp/.9 or whp/.85) This formula will account for 10 percent or 15 percent drivetrain loss. This is considered acceptable in FWD platforms, while rwd is between 15 and 20. I *believe* awd 20% drivetrain loss is considered acceptable. Does this help?

Sorry, I have the tune completed with flashpro. Tomorrow I may look into uploading the map.
I will also reach out to Charles at Adrenalinexxx.com and see if I can get the winpep files.
Also torque to newton:

With that formula: newton/meters is: 216.198....

I did achieve this with the ceramic coating on the pipe, so your numbers may vary if you don't get it coated.
The pipe is awesome though. If you get it tuned, I think you'll be really happy. I am thinking exhaust is in order...
So... for the haters that have nothing nice to say about the k24z3, keep hating. I think it's just fine. When this gets a turbo strapped on.... it's going to become a handful.

im not a big fan of that torque curve...doesn't look particularly flat and looks like it's all over the place, the afr seem to waffle a bit too...that line shouldn't have spikes, it should be smooth. I guess the tuner played with the afrs to get the most power, just strange the way it needs to start getting lean towards the upper end of the powerband.
#254
also cool to note that holding out the gears doesn't make sense in this car, short shifting at 6800 seems to be the way to go

Thanks for posting up the data Optimus. I hope you can get me that winpep data soon.
+14.76 HP / +4.02 TQ GAINS! with just a simple bolt on and keeping the restrictive secondary cat. There is still power to me made with a HFC or test pipe and exhaust.
Hopefully we can get enough interest for a RV6 catback exhaust.

Drove a bit this morning, the temps are only like 80f. The torque that's available just with normal driving is readily apparent.
I would agree with getting the hfc from rv6. It was a bit of a money issue, but after he refunds me the money for dyno's, I may pick the hfc up later this month or early next month.
I'm thinking more and more turbo on this car. Pick up the ZDX and RBC with deatsch work injectors and all of that....

ordered the downpipe...oh snap...my tsx is gonna kick some arse!!!!
#260
by the way, I have an auto, so we'll see how that works out, lol.
#262
I mean works out in terms of making the car feel a tad bit zippier. I feel like this car would be great if I can get 10-15 more hp out of it.

Three inch all the way back to the split to the dual, and I'd be interested. I want to go turbo back.
#265
3" doesn't necessarily make extra power, even on a turbo car...look at awe's 2012 gli exhaust...they decided against a 3"
#268
Oh man, cannot wait to get this part... In a bit of a rut with money atm but I will be on this ASAP!
fn2awsum, let me know when you plan to get this as we're both from Australia!

Gonna do it after i come back from holidays in sydney!! Ecu and flashpro and rrc pending payment atm!!! Oh euronoob also u can get flsshpro and ecu from BYP in sydney
#270
Also, what year is your missus' Euro again? Mine's 2011 so don't think the FlashPro will work on my car, need an older ECU
And to check if the FlashPro fits our car, do we check that thing near our intake for the code or is it actually between the driver and the passenger in the footwell somewhere because that's where it says to check on the site :\

we got the 2010 CU2. our numbers dont match up either for the ecu. but thats no problem coz BYP stocks the correct ecu. just get it off them and away you go with the flashpro [=. oh dam i meant im getting the RBC not RRC hahaha. looking for mid range torque rather than top end power. mainly for everyday driving so not gonna hit the high revs any time soon haha. also picking that up from BYP with the water hole plug.

so, I might be the first to test fit this on an ilx...going to the acura dealer next week.

The precat in the Civic SI is much shorter in length and the exit of the precat is off to the side so they can cram everything in there. Not a straight shot like it is in the TSX.

then it definitely won't fit...
#277
asia candy, whats good with that downpipe?
#278
mine might be up for sale soon (it's bnib)...thinking about not modding the tsx and getting something else entirely.
#279
pm me if u decide, i commute between boston and jersey here and there for the summer so maybe i can save you the headache of shipping. maybe i can give you a high five. who knows
