Nice! Now I've gotta wait till my OE one poops so I can have an excuse to get this.

This is one of those no-brainer purchases since it kinda pays for itself over time.

well u hear a sharp sound in admision sector around 2k till 3,5k rpm after that only the vtec, all iv noticed that a slightly fuel ecconomy and the car rise faster in rpm. but i chosen K&N ony because the dust in my country maked me chage air filter once in 5000 miles (aprox. 7k km) and i like to wash it once a 2 max 3 months.

Would you recommend it then or no? I love the car but want to add some power to it, and no one is releasing anything yet!

Just installed my new K&N OEM replacement. My resonator is already removed so it's difficult to tell if there's any change in intake noise. Maybe it's because I WANT to feel the extra horsepower the filter adds, but the engine seems to rev quicker telling me it's breathing easier.

Either way... I talked the guy at the parts store down to $55 and of course it comes with the cool K&N stickers.

finally got one installed about a half hour ago. while there isnt a noticeable difference in any category, it does seem to breathe a bit better. maybe itll actually perform when its really pushed for more air. outside of that im thrilled to not have to replace my air filter all the time. at $26 a pop? yup. no brainer. ill wait till im ready for a turbo before i start screwing with the intake.

i have same wish! a turbo on my 2.0i-vtecE SOHC- but i am realy scared about the power that a single axel cant handle the torsion... but the costs i think will

here in europe japanese think we are realy poluted and build only the eco-engine ... and this new batery cars will make me search a civic type R build till 2003...

meantime...

most people are able to boost upwards of 300-400bhp before they run into trouble and start breaking things. your car will handle moderate boost in stock configuration. and we'll see if they even bother making a limited slip diff at all. my personal goal is 470bhp and 380ft/lb torque. i know i'll need to mod the engine a bit for higher torque numbers but thats fine. gotta get off the line. waiting 2-3 seconds before the rpms climb high enough for vtec is ridiculous. think i might even get the vtec point adjusted down to 3,5k. now, wheres all the time i'll need to do this?! lol

Btw, update on the oem k&n filter after an ECU reset and two weeks of driving before a 500 mile roundtrip.

I usually only get to Raleigh and back. That's it. This time I got to Raleigh, then Holly Springs (two hour drive roudtrip) back to Raleigh and then back to Virginia Beach. I only stopped an hour outside of Virginia Beach to fill up but I still had enough to get back. I averaged 30.4 MPG at 30%city/ 70% h/w driving at a total average of 43mph by the MID. I'd say I was doing roughly 64mph on the h/w, wasn't always nice and had several bursts upward 20+mph. City, same thing. And these figures were actual figures taken after I filled the tank and did the math. The MID said I got 34.2mpg. So the filter is doing its job, and then some.

If you aren't interested in a CAI or SRI or Icebox, look into getting this filter. You won't be dissapointed.

BTW, I used cruise control all the time on the highway and had the A/C on the whole time. Those numbers COULD improve.
