Lowering?
Lowering?
Whats the best way to lower this car (13 SE TSX)? I've been looking at the H&R Sport Springs so far. Will these void my warranty on the car? Where do I get them installed? I'm gonna be running the stock SE wheels for now because a. I sorta like them b. I have no money. Will it look weird to be a bit lowered and running the stocks?
I saw a TSX lowered on stock wheels with springs last night and it looked pretty nice.
As far as i know it doesn't void the warranty, but if you have a problem the dealer could blame it on your mod and deny you. Get them installed at whatever local shop you have around you.

This topic has been covered a billion times. There's a thread in the tires, wheels, and SUSPENSION sub section. H&R drop is pretty minor so your dealer prob won't even notice the change. As long as you are happy with the way a drop and stock wheels look that's all that matters. I'm currently on my stocks right now cause i've been too lazy to put my wheels back on and it doesn't bother me one bit.

H&R lists them as an approx. 1.3 inch drop, but what exactly does that mean? 1.3 inches from where?
Also can the mods please move this to the wheels/suspension subforum? That's where I meant to post this.
If you don't know what a drop is maybe the modding life isn't for you. Anyways to answer your question, overall your car will be 1.3in closer to the ground (drop). There is a very nice thread that has everyone post pictures of drops and set ups so everyone can compare (I tried to mention it in my last post but it wasn't that clear). I do not have H&R springs so you seeing my car on stocks is pointless and they are already posted on that specific thread. I don't know what it's called but its by pupp3tmaster or something like that lol. I personally do not know if it will void your warranty but I'm sure it's something you can google.

If you are just looking for a set ride height drop the H&R or TEIN springs are a good choice. If you want more adjustment you want either TEIN or XLR8 ISC coilovers.
i have a set of tien s techs i think the drop on those is like 1.6 front and 1.4 rear. the car rides pretty much the same with them on. i think paid about 350 for them so they are pretty reasonably priced.
Warranty issues are pretty straightforward. Based on a suspension mod, the dealer may deny warranty service on whatever they can connect to the mod. In general, your warranty woes would extend to any suspension bits, wheel bearings and possibly drivetrain issues.
And there there was this fellow who was denied a warranty clain on a buckling roof around his moon roof because he was lowered.
With any mod you have to ask yourself "what parts could possobly be affected?" and then be mentally and financially prepared to pay for the consequences of your mod.
