I am eager to install my latest purchase/upgrade. I purchased these RALCO pulleys to free up some HP.....these are stock size, so not underdrive pulleys. But the weight savings is incredible. Stock crank pulley weighs in at 4.3lbs and the RALCO one weighs in at 1.2lbs....the other 2 pulleys aid in another pound of savings in weight. My reasoning for going with RALCO is because their pulley still has the "teeth" like the OEM unit.....plus still has a decent weight to it so it doesn't hinder the idle.
Also pictured, a new belt and the tools needed to remove the crank bolt....the hex holder and a "high-mass" 19mm impact socket.
I will give an update after install in the next couple of days!!
On my old Integra, I ran a lightweight crank pulley and It was okay. I immediately felt a difference in the engine's ability to rev faster - not sure I felt any extra power. The one drawback I experienced was that the revs would drop really quickly between shifts resulting in rougher shifts and more jerkiness. Not sure if you feel anything on an automatic trans.
Also, as a side note, only 2 pulleys will be used, the crank and alternator....the mid sized pulley is for power steering.....our cars have electric power steering, so it won’t/can’t be used. Pulley kit is for RSX, Accord, and 1st gen TSX, which all have hydraulic P/S.
ive been running the same setup on my bros tsx noticed that the belt seems to wear a bit more then usual but over all the car had better throttle response
