For the time being, I'll stick to CAI/PCD/ECU... Hoping RV6 or Greddy release an exhaust in the next 10 years

The kit

Parts seem to be of high quality and feel strong. Could not be happier with the quality !

So I like that the intercooler is pretty thick, (thick than mine) but I feel like our bumpers don't have a very big opening, so in that aspect I'm glad that the merc cooler that I have is longer (length wise) rather than taller and "square" like Vit's cooler. It'll be cool to see the dyno comparison between our two stage 2 kits.

It will be a little while longer before I retune and dyno again. I need more parts for the upgrade and then I will have to plan the day drive down to a Vits shop

Looks good, mount the radiator as low as possible and it will get plenty of air. Wish I could drive to Oregon to get on Vits dyno I'm jelous

What's with the degrees at the openings? Is it because it's cut to only line up at those notches?

They are they so if you want to move the fittings you can. And you can make sure they are both set up the same way or different angles if you want. More for show IMO.

When I did my install, I didn't have the new CTEtensioner specifically for the CU2, only the 8th gen style tensioner. The mounting points were slightly different so I had to route the belt using ONLY the factory tensioner and deleted idler pulley. It seems to be working out okay but the other day as I was getting towards redline, I heard belt squealing. Assuming that is slipping, I want to get a legit belt setup. Any recommendations on tensioner setups? Right now, I'm considering the CTE one made for the CU2 or the Mercracing version. The 8thgen had a lot of problems with the CTE one because it ran small pulleys that ran too high of an rpm but I haven't heard any issues about the CU2 version from CTE. For you guys running the CU2 one from CTE, any issues, complaints, or belt slippage/shredding?

Factory CU2 bolt location and my current setup:

CTE tensioner. Does anybody have a better picture of what it looks like installed?

I have had no issues with mine, but yes I did have issues with the 8thgen one. Then they made one so you could replace just the bearings and not the hole pulley.

Im using CTE tensioner with the 3" pulley with no problem. The squealing is definitely belt slip. And you can also verify by looking at boost drop on your datalog. You'll see it start to dip as your belt slips. I was slipping so badly in the begining that I hit 10psi at like 4500RPM and by redline I was at like 4 or 5 psi. I had to really crank the CTE tensioner back. From belt to belt I have a gap of around ~15mm. The clearance is really close, but I've found anything less than that the belt will slip (using stock size belt). I also just switched to the Poly-V gatorback and I really like it!

I'm curious... how much larger are your fuel injectors over stock?

My car is gonna be unavailable for modding until I sort out the oil consumption issue with Acura, but thinking of modding still makes me moist.

I believe stock is 310CC.. and the CTE modified injectors I have are 780CC, but I think now CTE is sending out injectors with 550CC injectors.

The kit out of the box works with the stock injectors right? I wouldn't make as much power as you but my mileage wouldn't drop as much either. Probably even on the new 550s it wouldn't.

Have any approximate 0-60 times with your build?

I saw your YouTube video, looks like it moves pretty quick.

The kit is made to work with modified stock injectors not just plain stock injectors. I am not sure they would give you enough flow to make the kit work. I think there is a DIY out there that showed you how to modify your stock injectors the way they do if your curious.

I also got some 550cc aftermarket injectors that have a better flow then the modified stock ones that is why I went with them instead.

I don't have 0-60 times. I've actually never taken it to the track. Although, I imagine it wouldn't perform that well since you basically can't full boost in 1st or 2nd gear without spinning the tires. This is my daily, and I highway drive every day, even with a fairly short on ramp, if you floor it in 3rd gear at like 45mph you're at 90mph before you even hit the highway... if that gives you any idea of how quick it is.

I've gone head to head with my buddies 370WHP STi during a 3rd gear pull, and while he walks away from me, it takes a solid 5 seconds before he is a whole car length ahead of me.

What makes you say that the 550cc flows better than the modified 780cc injectors? Are you speaking in terms of actual laminar flow, or consistency of spray, or atomization? This seems like a pretty vague statement.

Sorry I was half asleep when I was typing that. And yes when I was talking Heeltoe on what injectors I wanted he was saying the 550cc ones would have a better spray and the fuel would burn butter using them and they are a much better I juector then a modified stock one. That was enough for me to want them over the other.

I don't remember exactly how they modify the stock ones to flow more because it's been a while since I was looking into doing them my self on my civic but I believe you are basically just taking a part of them to get more fuel out of them and I would assume you would get a better performing injector if you bought ones that have been tested to work the best they can how they are made. Then to be taking a part injectors to make them flow more fuel.

Sorry hope this explains my statement better and this is just my opinion.

What's up guys, currently planning on going stage 1 supercharger in the spring on my 10' 6MT but I'm currently running a complete stock exhaust system... My question is, are any of you guys running the same? Or is everyone running downpipes and high flow cats etc. because I might just go full custom exhaust before supercharging it or should I just do the stage 1 with stock exhaust until I go stage 2 and all that, thanks

You're going to want at a minimum the RV6 downpipe. The CATs are soo restricting. I was hitting target boost way too early even with RV6 downpipe and secondary CAT. So VIT suggested removing the second CAT to decrease back pressure on the system, it worked, just sounded super raspy, so eventually I got a resonator welded in.. now it sound like stock (which I really like, because people can't really tell what I'm hiding under the hood. )

Ok thanks for the response

So i can't run the stock exhaust with the blower makes sense

The guy doing my exhaust said I could do a full custom set up
Rv6 downpipe, two resonators to keep it quiet , cat less with any mufflers that I choose... Should have no drone is what I want most because I can't take that droning on the highway lol suffered for years with my Rsx

I got 1 ultra quiet 14" resonator (2.5" dia) and it did the trick, no drone in the slightest, I highly recommend it. I don't think you'll need 2 resonators. If I were getting custom exhaust system I would get dual tipped mufflers and modify the bumper. It's sweet, I love Utah's setup. And well.. 3in catless tubing all the way back (if possible)

You're gunna love the supercharger, but when you upgrade the clutch get M-Factory LSD. I think I mentioned plenty times before that I wish I had done an LSD when I upgraded my clutch, but I couldn't afford it at the time.

Ok cool, so your only running one resonator and no cat?
And I have my eye on some greddy mufflers which look like they'll sit perfect in those gaps

And yeah I'm currently at 27,500 miles hoping that the stock clutch would hold on for stage 1 while not abusing it... Then stage 2 with a new clutch and hopefully LSD, it's my daily so I need it to be reliable not gonna be taking it to the track anytime soon

Yup that's right, RV6 downpipe + straightpipe combo, and then resonator welded in about a foot behind the straight pipe.

Yeah, stock clutch will hold on the stage 1 even with abuse. Just don't slip the clutch lol. I had 90K miles on stock clutch when I installed the SC, then 98K when I swapped for the stage 2 clutch. Even with 90K already on the original, it was holding alright the last 8 with the supercharger. So you should have no problem with such low mileage.

Did you already order your kit? If you are ever on the civic forums you'll know that some of those members have waited for ~3 months to finally get their kit. CTE is unresponsive to anyone on the planet, so it's hard to get updated information. (seems weird since a lot of people go this route for supercharged Honda's)

That's good to hear about the stock clutch

Haven't ordered it yet was saving and waiting til Spring, I'm probably going thru a buddy of mine who has a performance shop out here in NY... Was wondering what pricing you got on it if you don't mind sending me a pm, not trying to overpay

But then I was reading about running it with the stock exhaust so now Ima have to get this outta the way so I might push back my supercharger purchase

I purchased the SC kit at price.. like I said, CTE is impossible to get-a-hold of, so you can imagine that suppliers/vendors like VitViper, HeelToe,Excelerate, Axion etc... can't make much of a deal if you can't ever talk to CTE. The big thing was ordering EVERYTHING through one vendor, because then they can give you reduce prices on bulk shipping, and deal with any purchase problems through one person.

I would say you aren't gunna get a new kit for any lower than what CTE has listed on the site. The only time I saw one listed for lower was when Marcus at HeelToe ordered one for a customer, but it took 3 months so the customer backed out, and then the SC order finally came through. I think Marcus finally sold the kit for ~$200 less than what was listed on the site, just to re-coupe the cash.

The only time I saw one listed for lower was when Marcus at HeelToe ordered one for a customer, but it took 3 months so the customer backed out, and then the SC order finally came through. I think Marcus finally sold the kit for ~$200 less than what was listed on the site, just to re-coupe the cash.
Ok Cool cool I saw him selling that also, gonna part together the exhaust and probably have vit retune the NA set up til I get the blower then the full will begin

My guy contacted ct already so let's see what they say about time frames

RV6's move to a bigger shop fell through. I was over there picking up the high flow CAT to replace my stock CAT. They've been swamped with stuff for the TL and K-Tuner. Not much has changed since they released the teaser pics of the turbo setup. I've seen (and touched) the turbo kit they have setup on their shop car.
